Sustainability Trends 2023: Goodbye Greenwashing, Hello Business Results

January 31, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin This year’s forecast of sustainability trends looks like the perfect storm (in a good way) of purpose-minded, yet business opportunity-led progress. Although Forrester analysts expected at least 10 companies to incur $5 million or more in greenwashing fines, the longer term outlook for meaningful environmental impact is far brighter. Gartner researchers predicted that political bodies worldwide would support nation-state commitments to invest tens of trillions of dollars in climate mitigation from 2025 to 2035. Prodded by consumer demands and impelled by increasingly stringent regulations, the business sector has taken notice and actions to create a more sustainable future. Here’s a summary of their investment priorities. Getting accurate, quality ESG data Environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) standards and regulations are becoming a dominant force in how organizations operate, touching every part of the … [Read more...] about Sustainability Trends 2023: Goodbye Greenwashing, Hello Business Results

Why This Fintech Company Is Eyeing Traditional Companies As It Builds A New Breed Of Banks

January 31, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Banks, in one fashion or another, have been central to functioning societies for hundreds of years. It’s estimated that in the U.S. nearly every single citizen ( 92% ) has an account with a traditional bank. One reason these institutions hold a majority of consumers’ accounts is because of their longevity: No matter what’s happening in the world, they tend to come out on the other side. Another reason so many people rely on traditional banks is that, until fairly recently, the only other options they had were other banks with fairly comparable offerings. When digital challenger banks and fintechs (think: Chime, Ally Bank, SoFi) began arriving on the scene, consumers had more banking options than ever before. These new banks have been able to appeal to consumers in ways that traditional banks have not–with low or no fees, a mix of low-interest borrowing and high-interest saving options, digital interfaces, fresh, … [Read more...] about Why This Fintech Company Is Eyeing Traditional Companies As It Builds A New Breed Of Banks

Citing a belief that flexible and remote work will continue gaining traction, CEO Brian Chesky said the policy will enable the company to recruit top talent from all over the world. What Does It Take For Enterprises To Succeed In The Digital Age?

May 31, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Digital transformation has become a business imperative in the wake of the pandemic. Companies that have not modernized their processes and integrated cloud and analytics capabilities are severely disadvantaged. Genpact's latest study, "Data-Driven Business Transformation ,” reveals that only 8% of enterprises have fully modernized. This digital divide will result in those companies who can move quickly and take advantage of new opportunities, leaving behind those who are not. In addition to Genpact, Peak's latest report, "State of AI 2022 ," revealed that 55% of enterprises will be AI-First by 2025. Yet, despite the clear advantages of AI integration, only 35% of c-suite executives have plans to implement it. According to Peak's CEO, Richard Potter, "AI is inherently a data technology and must function as part of an overarching data strategy, yet most respondents in this survey are thinking about the two separately." … [Read more...] about What Does It Take For Enterprises To Succeed In The Digital Age?

TBD Health Raises $4.4 Million In Seed Funding To Democratize Access To Inclusive Sexual Care

January 31, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Stigma is one of the most under-addressed social determinants of health that can seriously impact the way that patients think about prioritizing their health needs and their care-seeking behavior. As a society, sexual practices are constantly evolving and so should our sexual healthcare with it. By not talking about it or making it shameful to talk about sex, and due to the pervasive lack of adequate sex education, we create a climate where people are under-informed or misinformed about their sexual health and what resources are available to them. While there are certainly fantastic providers specially trained in sexual health, there are many more that are uncomfortable talking to their patients about sex. A recent study has shown that although “sexual health is generally considered an integral part of medical and allied healthcare professional training, many medical schools do not offer this as a mandatory curriculum, or … [Read more...] about TBD Health Raises $4.4 Million In Seed Funding To Democratize Access To Inclusive Sexual Care

What Is The Future Of Marketing In 2023?

January 31, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Paul Getter of The Internet Marketing Nerds helps people rapidly accelerate their digital presence and build successful online businesses. Marketing and commercial advertising are poised to be disrupted by the advance of high bandwidth networks mediating high-performance applications like augmented reality, virtual reality and artificial intelligence (AI). How soon? Apple and Meta have already undertaken years at great expense and singular efforts along these lines. Here’s what I see next in the pipeline and how it will change the future of marketing. Augmented Reality Augmented reality glasses have the potential to be a huge attention market. Alphabet, back when it was still Google, made an attempt at it, but it might be Apple that might make it cool and stylish enough for the market to adopt. Menswear Reloaded: Kseniaschnaider Upgrades Pitti Uomo

February 16, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Some artists get labeled “ahead of their times” as a consolation prize. Some are lucky to seize their moment when the times finally catch up with their visionary ideas. Few get to bring about colossal change in their field and benefit from progress. KSENIASCHNAIDER is one such successful outlier turned industry prophet. Upcycling as a term has not been used by the design community until mid-1990’s. For decades it lingered in the DIY segment of the early e-commerce marketplaces like Ebay and Etsy. The pandemic’s disruption of the global supply chain and waning consumer confidence shattered fashion’s exponential growth mentality. The 2020 excess garment stock not only created an estimated $160 billion financial loss for the industry but also exposed its waste (mis)management to the world like the Atacama Desert “ fast fashion graveyard ” in Chile. It was previously known as one of the world’s best stargazing destinations. … [Read more...] about Menswear Reloaded: Kseniaschnaider Upgrades Pitti Uomo

The 7 Deadly Sins Of Corporate Black History Month Programming

January 31, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin For many organizations January is a time of renewal—setting goals, welcoming new team members, establishing a fresh start, etc. But unfortunately, January can also trigger anxiety and discomfort for many organizations as they scramble to prepare for what may feel like an obligatory pivot into unfamiliar territory—Black history. As a result, many organizations miss an important opportunity to acknowledge and honor Black history and culture and instead awkwardly stumble through a series of disjointed events that feel like afterthoughts and tragically reinforce the absence of any holistic, sustained commitment to antiracism. If your organization is like many—scrambling to assemble Black History month (BHM) programming in the days, hours, minutes before the month begins—please consider these all too common yet tragic missteps.
