By City News Service | PUBLISHED: February 18, 2019 at 6:13 am | UPDATED: February 18, 2019 at 6:14 am LOS ANGELES — Traveling through the heart of Hollywood will get progressively more difficult this week as street and sidewalk closures begin in preparation for Sunday’s Oscars ceremony. One week before the big night, Hollywood Boulevard was completely closed in both directions between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive, where crews installed the lengthy red carpet and adjacent bleachers last week. The stretch of Hollywood Boulevard will remain closed until 6 a.m. on Feb. 27. Academy Award prognosticators can test their prediction skills, choosing winners in several major Oscar categories for the chance to win some big money. We're giving away $1,400 in prizes, including a $1,000 grand prize. You just need to predict how the academy will vote in six major categories – best picture, director, actor, actress and supporting actor and actress. There's also a tiebreaker category, which asks you to select the winner for best short film (live-action). We're limiting eligibility to Michigan residents to keep the prize money in-state.
