Depp shut down the Varanasi Restaurant in Birmingham to the public on Sunday for a dinner with 20 friends. The restaurant’s Operations Director Mohammed Hussain said Depp’s final bill was around £50,000 ($60,000) in total, TMZ reported. The 58-year-old actor has been performing with Beck in the UK and even missed the final day of the defamation trial for a show. An album is next in line for the two. Camille Vasquez, the Hollywood lawyer who gained international recognition after representing actor Johnny Depp in his defamation case against former wife Amber Heard, is once again making headlines. Earlier this week, the 37-year-old who became known on social media as the “queen of cross-examination” for her role in the closely watched six-week trial, was on a flight from Los Angeles to New York City when an elderly passage collapsed mid-flight, TMZ reported. The incident took place in the first-class cabin of an American Airlines flight. A man from Saudi Arabia has offered to marry Amber Heard after she lost her highly-publicised defamation trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp. In a voice note sent to her official Instagram handle, the man proposed to Amber Heard even as he pointed out that ‘all other doors’ seemed to be closing for her in the aftermath of the trial. The judge who presided over Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s defamation trial officially entered the judgement into court record Friday, and conditions may make it costly for Heard to appeal, TMZ reported. The judge has indicated that if Heard wants to move forward with appealing the verdict , she must post bond for the $8.35 million she already owes Depp as well as an additional $621,000, according to TMZ . The nature of the 6% additional fee hasn’t been expressly explained but might be a form of interest penalty for the delay an appeal would create in the collection of the original amount that was awarded to Depp, the outlet reported. Amber Heard is not backing down yet. On Friday (June 24), the legal teams of Heard and ex-husband Johnny Depp convened at a Fairfax, Virginia, courtroom with Judge Penney Azcarate. Instead of finalising a settlement, Heard’s representatives said the actor will appeal the outcome of the six-week defamation trial. “As stated in yesterday’s congressional hearings, you don’t ask for a pardon if you are innocent. And you don’t decline to appeal if you know you are right,” a spokesperson for Heard said. The meeting comes just weeks after the contentious televised trial concluded on June 1. The jury awarded Depp US$15mil in damages, eventually downsized to slightly more than US$10mil per Virginia’s statutory limit, and US$2mil to Heard.
