Only 14 percent of respondents reported feeling productive for over 7 hours per day, the survey covering 500 office workers and 200 employees carried out by Switzerland-based recruitment firm Adecco found. Although Vietnamese corporate culture demands employees to be at the workplace during working hours, being at the office does not directly translate into productivity, said the survey report. It found that while 78 percent of employers expect their staff to stay in the office at all times, 54 percent of employees say they usually or sometimes stay at work late even they have no tasks assigned. 83 percent of employees believed a flexible working schedule would boost their productivity, with most saying that morning periods between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. are their most energetic times, and not the late afternoon. According to employees, distractions at work was also a major limit to productivity. 55 percent of respondents said they have to read above 15 emails daily, and another 14 … [Read more...] about Most workers feel productive for less than 6 hours a day

At the event (Photo: VNA) In the Asian Development Outlook (ADO) 2019 Update, ADB noted that while Vietnam’s gross domestic product growth moderated in the first half of 2019, it will remain resilient this year and next year despite a weaker external environment. Inflation forecasts are revised down to 3.0 per cent from 3.5 per cent for 2019 and 3.5 per cent from 3.8 per cent for 2020. GDP growth moderated from 7.0 per cent in the first half of 2018 to 6.8 per cent in the corresponding period of this year. On the demand side, as external demand weakened, volume growth in exports of goods and services slowed by more than half, from 15.7 per cent in the first 6 months of 2018 to 7.1 per cent a year later. The adverse effect of the export slowdown on GDP growth was well cushioned, however, by continued strength in domestic demand. Growth moderated across the board in agriculture, industry, and services, but to varying degrees. Prolonged drought and a fresh outbreak of African … [Read more...] about ADB forecasts Vietnam’s economy to grow at 6.8 per cent in 2019
MANILA - Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Tuesday gave 2 companies 72 hours to pay P25.54 million in unpaid obligations or risk losing control of 5 public markets in the city. XRC Mall Developers Inc and Marketlife Management and Leasing Corporation entered a joint venture agreement with the previous administration, but never remitted the city’s guaranteed annual revenue share since 2017, Moreno said. “‘Yung maliliit na nagtitinda nagbabayad pero ‘yung malalaking korporasyon hindi nagbabayad. Parang ginagahasa niyo naman kami niyan,” the mayor said. XRC-operated markets Sta. Ana Market, San Andres Market, Sampaloc Market and Trabajo Market incurred a P14.38-million debt between April 2017 and July 2019. Marketlife, the corporation behind Quinta Market, had P11.16 million in unpaid obligations in the same period. “Binibigyan ko kayo ng 72 hours to pay. This is unfair. Hindi makatwiran yan,” he said. “In the absence of payment, we … [Read more...] about Isko gives 2 market operators 72 hours to pay P25.54-M debt

Sophia Mitrokostas, provided by Published 2:10 pm PST, Friday, February 22, 2019 iStock Some people have said they've been able to make thousands of dollars by working a few hours per week instead of working a more standard salaried job. Personal finance blogger Sam Dogen said he retired at age 34 and now lives entirely off of his passive income. In his book, Timothy Ferriss wrote that he was able to go from making $40,000 per year and working 80 hours per week to making $40,000 per month and working four hours per week. Although a 40-hour workweek is seen as quite standard for many Americans, most people would rather be making more money while working fewer hours. Retiring early with plenty of cash to spare is a common financial goal and some people seem to have discovered the secret to building up their savings account without spending decades working a salaried job with a major time commitment. Here are a few people who have cracked the code to making profits … [Read more...] about These 3 people have cracked the code to making major profits while working fewer hours per week.
