Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin With Ukrainian forces now on the Russian border, a momentous question has arisen. Will Ukrainian troops now invade Russia? Ukrainian boots on Russian ground might divert forces from the main Russian offensive to the south, embarrass the Russian government. and boost Ukrainian morale. It would also be sweet revenge in a conflict that has almost totally been waged on Ukrainian territory. However, advancing into Russia would more likely be an enormous blunder. It would dissipate Ukrainian military power, possibly provoke Moscow into using chemical or nuclear weapons, and support Russia’s claim that invading Ukraine was a “defensive” war. Perhaps most important, it would risk depriving Ukraine of support from Western nations reluctant to risk escalating the conflict into World War III. So far, there are no public indications that Ukraine is contemplating sending ground troops into Russia. Nonetheless, in a war where … [Read more...] about Will Ukraine’s Army Invade Russia?

The Russian Army Has Set Its Sights On A Single Small City In Eastern Ukraine
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Eighty-five days into Russia’s wider war on Ukraine, the Kremlin’s aims have shrunk to miles and towns. If there’s an overarching strategic goal in Moscow right now, it’s to surround and destroy the handful of Ukrainian brigades around Severodonetsk, a city with a pre-war population of 100,000 in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas region. Compare that to Russia’s initial goals—to occupy Kyiv, decapitate the Ukrainian government, capture all of Donbas and Ukraine’s Black Sea coast and destroy the Ukrainian armed forces. Three months ago, Moscow planned to smash Ukraine into a leaderless, landlocked and unarmed rump state. Now, Russian leaders might settle for slightly expanding their control in Donbas and possibly eliminating a few Ukrainian brigades. Even that isn’t going well for the Russians. In the last week, Russian forces have captured a few hamlets around Severodonetsk. But the town of Lyman, which anchors … [Read more...] about The Russian Army Has Set Its Sights On A Single Small City In Eastern Ukraine

That's why I co-wrote How the Future Works , with Slack's Brian Elliott and Sheela Subramanian. In the book, we leverage not only what we've learned from two years of research and a survey of more than 10,000 knowledge workers conducted by Slack consortium Future Forum , but also what we've seen implemented at companies like IBM, Royal Bank of Canada, and Genentech. Malaysia’s biggest telcos seek majority stake in 5G agency
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's four largest telecommunications firms are seeking a majority stake in a state 5G agency, countering a proposal by the government to offer them minority ownership, according to a letter sent by the firms to the finance ministry. The four dominant providers - Celcom Axiata Bhd, DiGi Telecommunications, Maxis Bhd and U Mobile - also want a review of the pricing model and network access plan offered by the agency, according to the May 9 letter seen by Reuters. ALSO READ: Ensuring the success of 5G Their objections to the government's proposal, which offered up to 70% of the country's sole 5G network operator spread among a wider group of companies, raise the risk of delays as the government aims to wrap up discussions on the stake sales by end-June. "We would not be able to justify a passive minority investment in this venture without being able to exercise influence and control to safeguard our investment," the letter said. The Worst Advice I Have Ever Heard as a Business Coach
As a business coach for more than 25 years, I have heard a lot of business advice from leaders and other business coaches in the industry. And much of it, while it may seem well intentioned, is actually pretty bad advice. And there are a few pieces of it that I have heard over and over again that make me cringe. So today I want to share one of the worst tips I have heard and tell you what you should be doing instead. "Do what you love, and the money will follow" This piece of advice is often given to a new entrepreneur looking to start their own business. They don't really know what they want to do yet, and have dabbled in a few things, but haven't really found anything that has gained traction. Their business acquaintances see them searching and share this tidbit as a way to help their friend find their path. And it is often coupled with a story of a friend of a friend, who found a love for some obscure hobby and turned that hobby into a multimillion-dollar business … [Read more...] about The Worst Advice I Have Ever Heard as a Business Coach

Why Tesla Could Become The Netflix Of The EV Market
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Netflix NFLX was a pioneer in the online streaming industry. This year, it became clear that the incumbents had finally caught up. What’s more, Netflix is not poised — as it was in 2007 — to enjoy rapid upward growth by creating a new industry that builds on its strengths. Now — after reporting a drop in subscribers — its stock trades 74% below its October 2021 peak. Could the same thing happen to Tesla? An MIT professor and a J.D. Power & Associates executive told me that Tesla — whose stock sits 43% below its high — will face considerable challenges from incumbents. However, by improving its vehicle design, offering a broader product selection, boosting manufacturing quality, and upgrading its customer service, they could envision Tesla sustaining its rapid growth by capturing more mainstream customers. How Netflix Lost Its Edge For years, Netflix defied analysts who said that the likes of Disney, … [Read more...] about Why Tesla Could Become The Netflix Of The EV Market
