In Another Blow To A Healthcare Delivery Industry In Cardiac Arrest, Amazon Just Closed A Blockbuster Deal With One Medical

March 20, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Amazon has just officially closed on its highly-anticipated $3.9 billion acquisition of primary care provider One Medical. While companies including Amazon, Walmart and CVS have been slowly moving into the healthcare market for years, this latest blockbuster deal is a potential game-changer. It now gives Amazon the last piece of the puzzle they need to build a solid foundation to deliver fully integrated primary care: a nationwide brick-and-mortar presence. This latest incursion from retail disruptors is continued bad news for a broken U.S. healthcare delivery system that not only continues to fail in a big way, and on every level, but has historically been loath to pivot to a new delivery model defined by better patient outcomes and at lower cost. Together, Amazon and One Medical hope to bring a more patient-centric approach to healthcare delivery in the comfort of people’s homes. With annual memberships starting at under … [Read more...] about In Another Blow To A Healthcare Delivery Industry In Cardiac Arrest, Amazon Just Closed A Blockbuster Deal With One Medical

March 20, 2023 by dailycaller.com

After raking in over $7 million in speaking fees from financial institutions in the two years before being confirmed, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen now plays a major role in determining which banks are systemically important, according to her testimony at a Senate Finance Committee hearing Thursday. Yellen had received more than $7 million in speaking fees from dozens of companies including Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Citi, Credit Suisse, UBS, Charles Schwab and many more, according to Yellen’s public financial disclosure report. Though the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation insures deposits up to $250,000, Yellen told the senators the government may insure additional deposits, as it did at the recently failed Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and Signature Bank, if that bank’s failure would present a “systemic risk” to the economy. Human Resources And Recruiters Are Getting Axed

March 20, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin A year ago, a study conducted by Workvivo , an employee experience engagement app, highlighted the challenges human resources professionals had to contend with at the time. The study surveyed more than 520 HR professionals in the United States and the U.K. on burnout in the HR department. Ninety-eight percent of HR professionals self-reported that they were experiencing burnout, while 94% said they felt overwhelmed and 88% of respondents said they dreaded work. As a result of workplace transformations, HR navigated in-office, remote and hybrid work styles. They contended with the Great Resignation, sourcing, recruiting, onboarding and retaining workers. The war for talent took its toll, as HR professionals felt undervalued and under-resourced. Human resources professionals are, once again, experiencing stress and anxiety, but this time for a different reason. Instead of being exhausted from all the hiring, HR, … [Read more...] about Human Resources And Recruiters Are Getting Axed

Coinbase Is Considering Diversifying Its Regulatory Risk By Moving A Trading Unit Outside Of The U.S.

March 20, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Coinbase, a leading United States-based cryptocurrency exchange, is considering diversifying its risk by establishing a trading platform in another country, according to Bloomberg . The Securities and Exchange Commission’s Crypto Assets and Cyber Unit in the Division of Enforcement plans to grow its division to about 50 dedicated positions from 30 white-collar regulatory officials. The new headcount will be tasked with investigating, auditing, examining and potentially prosecuting securities law violations related to crypto-related products and trading activities. In the wake of the spectacular implosion of crypto exchange FTX, led by its now-disgraced founder Sam Bankman-Fried, followed by the shuttering of crypto-friendly Silvergate Bank and Signature Bank and somewhat adjacent Silicon Valley Bank, it looks like the SEC is planning to vigorously scrutinize this sector more closely. If digital asset companies … [Read more...] about Coinbase Is Considering Diversifying Its Regulatory Risk By Moving A Trading Unit Outside Of The U.S.
