Living On Bitcoin For A Week: Bitcoiners Are The New Vegans
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Day 4. Bitcoin's value hit its low point on Friday On Friday, I skip breakfast again; it’s an unavoidable part of the Bitcoin diet as there are no places that serve food before 10 a.m. accepting my currency. I lose my appetite anyway when I check the value of Bitcoin; it has plummeted to $90 over night. It has been on a steady decline since I started my Bitcoin challenge. Is it me? My editor suggests the value is falling because I’m showing “ what a drag ” it is to use it. But I think it's due instead to a huge Bitcoin lawsuit that became public Thursday night. The virtual money has sparked a $75 million (real world currency) complaint; Seattle start-up Coinlab is suing Mt. Gox, saying the Japanese Bitcoin exchange has failed to follow through on the partnership they inked, refusing to let Coinlab take over management of Mt. Gox’s American and Canadian accounts as it allegedly agreed to do. Wrote Adrian … [Read more...] about Living On Bitcoin For A Week: Bitcoiners Are The New Vegans

Exclusive: Slice turns conservative amid slowdown, restricts ‘Pay-in-3’ feature to select card customers
Rajan Bajaj, Founder and CEO of Slice Tiger Global-backed fintech Slice will allow only select customers with a good credit score or repayment history to use its standout ‘Pay-in-3’ feature on its credit-linked Visa card, in what is a key departure from its previous model. The move signals a more conservative approach amidst a tough growth environment with a focus on a profitable business model. However, the feature will be extended to all customers for in-app payments, according to multiple people aware of the development. The move comes at a time when the company is looking to turn profitable soon, and driving up transactions with merchant partners on its app will help accelerate revenue growth. Slice’s ‘Pay-in-3’ allowed customers to split their repayments into three parts for no extra charges or interest. Now only those customers with a good repayment track record and/or a good credit score will be allowed to access the feature on its Visa card which the company calls a … [Read more...] about Exclusive: Slice turns conservative amid slowdown, restricts ‘Pay-in-3’ feature to select card customers
Choice Market opens high-tech store featuring an ice cream shop inside
Choice Market’s new store in Golden Triangle just got a little sweeter. Nearly two years after BusinessDen first reported on it, the local convenience store chain has opened its fourth location on the ground floor of the Parq on Speer apartment building at 909 Bannock St. The 5,000-square-foot space, which opened Feb. 26, also features the fourth location of High Point Creamery, an ice cream shop that already operates in RiNo, Berkeley and Hilltop. “There are around 3,000 units either built or planned in the three-to-four-block radius, and it’s one of the highest-density residential neighborhoods in Denver,” said Choice Market CEO Mike Fogarty. “But it lacks a lot of amenities and services. So, between that, Denver Health and the hospital caddy-corner from us, I’m guessing this will be a very successful store.” Choice Market’s newest and largest store sells groceries, local craft beer, hot and cold grab-and-go meals, snacks, cold-pressed juices, soups, breakfast burritos … [Read more...] about Choice Market opens high-tech store featuring an ice cream shop inside
