KeyBank last year achieved 17 percent of its five-year goal to invest $16.5 billion across all the markets where it has branches, said Beth Mooney, Key's chairman and CEO. Key invested $2.8 billion across 15 states as part of its national community benefits plan, Mooney said at the bank's annual shareholders meeting in Cleveland on Thursday. Key developed the plan, to support underserved markets and populations, in partnership with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition. The program includes loans, mortgages and donations. The bank announced the plan in 2016, ahead of its acquisition of First Niagara Bank. The $2.8 billion in investments included more than $140 million in Western New York. Buffalo is home to Key's Northeast regional headquarters. Mooney noted Key just received an "outstanding" Community Reinvestment Act rating. Choctaw Nation has been chosen by the federal government to help integrate drone technology into national airspace.The U.S. Department of Transportation selected 10 state, local and tribal governments to participate in the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration Pilot Program, announced last October. The Choctaw Nation is the only Oklahoma group selected. Szczur hit a go-ahead RBI double in the seventh inning and San Diego’s bullpen pitched four scoreless innings to lift the Padres past the Washington Nationals 2-1.
