Representative image Delhi recorded 1,656 COVID-19 cases and zero fatality due to the infection on Friday, the highest since February 4, while the positivity rate stood at 5.39 percent, according to data shared by the city health department. A total of 30,709 tests for the detection of coronavirus were conducted in the city a day before, it stated. The number of fresh coronavirus cases was the highest recorded in a single day since February 4 when the city had recorded 2,272 new infections at a positivity rate of 3.85 percent, and 20 related deaths. With the new cases, the national capital's overall COVID-19 infection tally rose to 18,91,425, while the death toll stood at 26,177, the data showed. The national capital had recorded 1,365 COVID-19 cases and zero fatality due to the infection on Thursday, while the positivity rate had stood at 6.35 percent. An Ola electric scooter. A tussle between Ola Electric and a customer who had an accident while riding the company’s electric scooter has escalated into allegations of breach of privacy and integrity of data. The customer has sent a takedown notice to Ola Electric for allegedly violating privacy laws by publishing the scooter’s telemetry data on social media. The notice is in addition to claims by the customer about the vehicle’s allegedly faulty brakes and has drawn more flak for Ola, which is grappling with the issue of a vehicle catching fire and has recalled over 1,400 electric scooters to conduct 'diagnostic and health check'. The latest controversy dates back to March 26, when lawyer Reetam Singh was riding his father’s brand new Ola S1 Pro late at night on the Khanapara Highway in Guwahati, Assam. The case is up for hearing on May 13. NEET PG is the qualifying exam for those who have passed their MBBS level to take up broad speciality courses in medicine. But why do the majority of students who are to appear in the NEET PG this year and are backed by various students’ associations apart from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) want the examination put off by a few weeks? Indian markets remained bearish for the the second consecutive week ended May 13 as the benchmark share indices lost nearly 4 percent. Persistent worries over rising inflation, possibility of further rate hikes by global central bank, China lockdown and weakening rupee kept the investors on the edge. During the last week, BSE Sensex declined 2,041.96 points (3.72 percent) to close at 52,793.62, while the Nifty50 shed 629.05 points (3.83 percent) to end at 15,782.20 levels. However, in the month of May Sensex and Nifty have lost more than 7 percent each. During the week gone by, all the sectoral indices were in the red with BSE Metal and Power indices falling 13 percent each. BSE Telecom index shed 6.7 percent and Realty index declined 5.8 percent.
