Are we ready for AI that knocks out jobs, fuels disinformation, and is difficult to regulate?
As it happens with most new advancements of technology, a discussion and a debate is emerging on what AI can or can’t do. (Representative image) On February 6, Sundar Pichai, CEO of tech behemoth Google and Alphabet announced ‘Bard’ , their experimental AI service. Google’s response comes nearly three months after a hitherto lesser-known company, OpenAI , announced ‘ ChatGPT ’ to the world. The last three months has seen a flurry of activity as an excited world embraced the tool, making it compose prose and poetry and figuring out how far it could go. Tech pundits even began to write articles that ChatGPT would be a great addition, but the company had to figure out how to make money. HART: Classified Documents Here, There, Everywhere!
My gun collection has grown large. With my sixth grandkid on the way, I wanted to buy another safe to lock away weapons and valuables. Then, when Joe Biden said we need not worry about the security of his classified documents, it occurred to me: I have a perfectly good two-car garage, too. Thanks for the security tip, Joe! When asked by a reporter who inadvertently practiced vigilant journalism about his cache of classified documents, Joe Biden said, “There is no there there.” This was a prickish, Democrat politician way to say, “Do not cover this story; I am totally guilty.” It turns out documents were there, there, there and just about everywhere. Mike Pence just upped the ante on the classified documents gambit. He said he also had such top-secret documents in his home. This prompted our ever-vigilant federal government to ask all ex-presidents, “Hey guys, any of you cats have any of dem classified documents?” We will see what Obama and Dubya say, but Jimmy Carter … [Read more...] about HART: Classified Documents Here, There, Everywhere!
A Lucky Accident: How Spanish Puerto De Indias Made The First Strawberry Gin
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The world’s first strawberry gin was launched by Puerto de Indias in Seville, Spain, in 2013. This is the story of how an over-ripe batch of strawberries, a historic distillery and what some might call a fortuitous accident inspired a new liquor category. The story behind strawberry gin begins in 2008 when two Sevillian brothers with a background in the construction industry set about trying to sell an old distillery. This proved tricky, as the distillery was considered a notable monument, due to its history dating back to the 19th century, and the presence of an underground water spring from Roman times. Unable to sell the distillery, the brothers instead decided to make the most of it. Gin is the most-sold liquor category in Spain "They started exploring the potential of the business, making different kinds of liquor, experimenting with different fruits," explains Juan Miguel Pérez Ilzarbe, International … [Read more...] about A Lucky Accident: How Spanish Puerto De Indias Made The First Strawberry Gin

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Topline Pressure is mounting from Republicans and some Democrats in Congress to pass a national ban on TikTok, the social video app owned by Chinese company ByteDance which has already been banned on federal devices and some college campuses over privacy concerns. Key Facts TikTok has faced calls for bans from critics who fear China may use the platform to access the data of American users. Video Report: Phuket’s Suunto Series – seeing in red and white
PHUKET: The first two white cards handed out for “points” in the Phuket We Free Dive Suunto Series have highlighted the unique format of the competition, which ranks the control, safety and beauty of the dive above time and distance. “I value any clean dive far above a longer or deeper one that ends with a barely conscious diver,” explained Association Internationale pour le Développement de l’Apnée (AIDA) judge Richard Wonka. “Freediving is a beautiful sport, it’s only the ego – which all of us carry around with us – that spoils its reputation.” Two white cards and two red cards were handed out to contestants by Mr Wonka and AIDA judge Sarah Whitcher at the dynamic without fins event on March 30 in Chalong. These cards count toward the grand prize of a Suunto D6i dive computer ( story here ).
