(Charlotte Checkers via Flickr) The Golden Knights re-signed defenseman Jake Bischoff to a three-year contract worth $716,667 annually Tuesday. Bischoff, 24, has yet to make his NHL debut. He was on the Knights’ roster out of training camp last season but never played a game. The 6-foot-1, 194-pound blue line appeared in 60 games for the American Hockey League’s Chicago Wolves last season and had 13 points (two goals, 11 assists). The allegations against Avenatti were revealed in charges filed Wednesday in New York. Federal prosecutors say Avenatti took money Daniels was supposed to get from a book deal. Federal agents allege that the attorney provided false information to get a loan from a Mississippi bank, and defrauded a legal client out of a portion of a $1.6 million settlement. Prosecutors link the alleged crimes to Avenatti's law firms and the coffee chain Tully's, which he acquired in 2013. In 2018, six former Tully's employees revealed to Business Insider what it was like to work at Tully's under Avenatti, including financial concerns and running out of coffee. Avenatti told Business Insider in October the he sold the coffee company for "nearly $28 million a long time ago"; federal prosecutors said in the complaint that this statement appears to be false. Prosecutors laid out the details in charging documents. Avenatti threatened to make damning information about the company public, and wanted money in exchange for silence, the prosecutors alleged. Avenatti repeatedly said "I'm not f---ing around" as he spoke with lawyers representing Nike, according to the documents.
