This is a cause for worry in the market and, more importantly, for investors who may get caught bearing the real costs of a SPAC. We'll look at the why and how of SPACs, as well as why the odds seem tilted against individual investors realizing a good return. Key Takeaways The IPO market has been frothy of late, with tech offerings seeing huge jumps in first-day trading. Within this IPO market, SPACs are making up a larger share of new offerings. This means that more and more money is hitting the market with a plan to find something to buy. SPACs give creators and sponsors structural advantages that later investors don't have, making the decision for retail … [Read more...] about SPACs Look Like a Bubble Within a Bubble

Punjab made a winning start but then slumped to three straight losses before producing a clinical show to beat defending champions Mumbai by nine wickets on April 23, and they would look to notch up another triumph against KKR which have suffered four defeats on the trot. Captain KL Rahul has been one of the few consistent performers in the formidable-looking Punjab batting unit and he once again led by example against MI with an unbeaten 60, his third fifty in five games. Mayank Agarwal has been the other main performer and the return to form of 'Universe Boss' Chris Gayle against MI with a 43 not out should be good news for Punjab. But Deepak … [Read more...] about IPL 2021 | PBKS vs KKR: Rejuvenated Punjab Kings seek to build winning momentum against Knight Riders
IPL 2021 | PBKS vs MI: Mumbai Indians seek consistency; Punjab Kings eyes return to winning ways
KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma. Mumbai Indians would be aiming to address their batting woes to achieve consistency while Punjab Kings would be desperate to arrest their overall slide when the two sides clash in an IPL match here on Friday. The Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai crashed to defeat against Delhi Capitals following an inept batting performance and will look for redemption. The skipper shone with the bat, but others could not get going and the misfiring middle-order would be a major concern for the side. The MI bowlers have more often than not risen to the occasion and won matches for the team. However, they couldn''t do so against Delhi and would like the batters to put up bigger scores for them to do the job. Rohit looked in good touch against Delhi. However, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan, stars of the team''s victorious 2020 campaign, have not been able to make match-winning contributions and that has hurt MI along with middling performances from Kieron Pollard and … [Read more...] about IPL 2021 | PBKS vs MI: Mumbai Indians seek consistency; Punjab Kings eyes return to winning ways

Several retailers, including Walmart Inc have lowered their full-year earnings forecasts, citing high inflation. Snap, the parent of Snapchat, issued a profit warning this week, sparking a sell-off of social media stocks. "The biggest expense for most companies is labor always," said Christopher Rupkey, chief economist at FWDBONDS in New York.
