KARON: The foreigner who drowned off Karon Beach on October 13 has been identified as 53-year-old Per-arne Sivertsen of Norway. Pol Capt Chana Sutimard, of Chalong Police Station told the Gazette, “Today I received a call from a member of the reception staff at the South Sea Resort to tell me that a guest who was supposed to check out today had not shown up, and wondering whether he might be the person who had drowned a week before. “We went to the hotel and found a briefcase in his room, containing a passport with a photograph that looked very similar to the victim. “The hotel told us that Mr Sivertsen had left his key at reception on October 13 and had not collected it since.
