Ivanka Trump is coming to Littleton on Wednesday as part of a nationwide push to increase the number of classes, apprenticeships and degrees geared toward closing the skills gap between what employers need and what would-be employees know. “We welcome this opportunity to host Ivanka Trump at our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Colorado to showcase our workforce development and apprenticeship programs,” Lockheed Martin CEO Marillyn Hewson said in a statement. Trump, who serves as an adviser to her father, President Donald Trump, plans to meet with students and graduates of three different programs that Lockheed Martin uses to hire and train its employees. Those programs are a cooperative effort between Metro State University and Lockheed Martin, a manufacturing apprenticeship program and a software associate degree program.
