TBD Health Raises $4.4 Million In Seed Funding To Democratize Access To Inclusive Sexual Care

January 31, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Stigma is one of the most under-addressed social determinants of health that can seriously impact the way that patients think about prioritizing their health needs and their care-seeking behavior. As a society, sexual practices are constantly evolving and so should our sexual healthcare with it. By not talking about it or making it shameful to talk about sex, and due to the pervasive lack of adequate sex education, we create a climate where people are under-informed or misinformed about their sexual health and what resources are available to them. While there are certainly fantastic providers specially trained in sexual health, there are many more that are uncomfortable talking to their patients about sex. A recent study has shown that although “sexual health is generally considered an integral part of medical and allied healthcare professional training, many medical schools do not offer this as a mandatory curriculum, or … [Read more...] about TBD Health Raises $4.4 Million In Seed Funding To Democratize Access To Inclusive Sexual Care

Curtain raiser | Sundance 2023: Screen time for India’s fears and frustrations

January 17, 2023 by www.moneycontrol.com

Indians showcase at Sundance Film Festival 2023. (Photos courtesy of Sundance Institute) If India's forthcoming run at Sundance 2023 had a theme, it would probably be the wilderness. Elephants, fish, white ants, and nocturnal beasts mark the stories featuring the country that will make their debut at the Utah-based film festival. Sundance platforms independent dramatic features and documentaries and brings some of the first international film showings of the calendar year. Titles that premiere there contend with the most troubling questions of the present moment. Indian filmmakers have regularly taken their work to the festival, particularly after the Sundance Institute began organising screenwriters and directors’ labs in the region. Such interactions have helped produce films including Margarita with a Straw (2014), Lunchbox (2015), and Fire in the Mountains (2021). Of documentary, episodes, and shorts Sundance Film Festival is biggest film festival to start … [Read more...] about Curtain raiser | Sundance 2023: Screen time for India’s fears and frustrations

Why The Maldives Must Be Number One On Your Bucket List

January 31, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Most people are clueless about the location of the Maldives (they’re below India and Sri Lanka in the middle of the Indian Ocean), but everyone knows they are a posh honeymoon/vacation spot where guests choose overwater bungalows or luxurious beach villas. Some just want to laze in the sun which shines more than 2,700 hours a year, while others go for the gourmet food, blissful spa treatments or water activities, enough to challenge even the most die-hard thalassophile (someone who loves the sea). The bad news is that the Maldives, one of the lowest countries in the world, are only three feet above sea level and greatly threatened by sea level rise, coastal storm surges, and associated flooding. Scientists say that given scenarios for global warming emissions, by the year 2100, the Maldives will experience a 1’5-foot sea level rise and lose 77 percent of the land area. This means that eventually the Maldives will fall into … [Read more...] about Why The Maldives Must Be Number One On Your Bucket List

So how can leaders, from large organizations to small startups, address employees in a moment filled with such uncertainty? How can they continue to future-proof their workforces when the future seems so unpredictable? In conversations with today’s top leaders, six key themes bubbled to the surface. Flexibility, control and trust will be key to building better relationships between … [Read more...] about What Will Make Work Work In 2023?

Buy Vardhman Textiles; target of Rs 440: Emkay Global Financial

January 31, 2023 by www.moneycontrol.com

Trade Watchlist Portfolio Message Set Alert live bse live nse live Volume Todays L/H More × Emkay Global Financial's research report on Vardhman Textiles Vardhman Textiles reported a sharp drop in EBITDA for the quarter (down 46% YoY and 32% QoQ) on account of 9% YoY lower sales and gross margin contraction. Gross margin declined to 37% from 52% YoY and 43% QoQ because of the sharp drop in yarn prices along with inventory of high-cost cotton. Consequently, EBITDAM stood at ~7.3% in Q3FY23 vs. 24.2% YoY and 14.6% QoQ. This is the lowest quarterly EBITDAM in the past almost 10 years, barring Q1FY21 (Covid lockdown period).
