But while the drama has already played out between the now exes, the messy, emotional fallout is just getting started on the beloved Bravo series. With the first half of season 10 already over, a mid-season teaser trailer released Monday, March 20, gives fans a glimpse at what’s to come in the remaining episodes, including a chilling confrontation between Madix and Sandoval. But before the camera focuses in on the former partners, the clip shows cast member Scheana Shay sharing a blunt word with Leviss. “I was the O.G. home-wrecking whore of this group and then Lala, and now here you are,” Shay said casually while she and Leviss assembled jewelry. Three Steps To Build The Future Of Nature
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Don’t Rescue It – Design And Engineer It Through Experimentation At Scale The future has a way of sneaking up on you if you don’t have an open mind. Ten years ago, my colleague Peter Kareiva was talking about genetically engineering meat – and I thought, “That’s never going to happen in my lifetime.” And now look where we are . So what’s the future of nature? Many people answer this question by immediately assuming the worst – that human activity (led by climate change) is likely to destroy nature and all of us who depend on it. We need to pose the question as a prompt to creative thinking instead of despair. Only an open, innovative mindset will allow us to seize all the opportunities now before us. And that openness starts with being open about what nature itself is and can be. Step One: Accept That We Are Experimenting with Nature at Big Scales, and Do So Intentionally The first step in thinking … [Read more...] about Three Steps To Build The Future Of Nature
The Evolution Of Stassi Schroeder: How She Found Her Voice And Embraced Her True Self
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Stassi Schroeder was on top of the world in 2020. She just bought her first home and got engaged. She was planning the perfect Italian wedding. But things were about to change. The Political Logic Of Willow Project’s Approval
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin In 2020, Candidate Biden pledged not to allow drilling on public lands and waters. In 2021, President Biden announced a target of reducing U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 50-52% by 2030 with 2005 as the baseline. But in 2023, President Biden approved ConocoPhillips’ Willow project for oil drilling on a federally-managed reserve on Alaska’s North Slope. The timing of this approval was terrible. Earlier this week, the IPCC synthesis report painted a grim picture about the possibility of limiting temperature increase to 1.5 °C, the desired target of the 2016 Paris Agreement. The 1.5 °C goal requires that the world slashes greenhouse gas emissions by half by 2030 and achieves net zero emissions by 2050. However, global emissions rose in 2022 . Investments in new fossil fuel capacity also continue. In 2022, China , the top global emitter, permitted 106 GW of new coal power projects, akin to two large coal power plants per … [Read more...] about The Political Logic Of Willow Project’s Approval
Reward Yourself After A Challenging Hike In Sedona
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The trails around these magnificent red rocks in Northern Arizona are no joke. Fortunately, there are some good options for refueling after burning a whole bunch of calories. Right this way to the red rocks During a recent visit to this wildly popular destination two hours north of Phoenix, a couple approached me on the trail near Bell Rock and asked: Which way is the vortex? Those magical places are even recognized by the official Visit Sedona website, which describes them as “places where the earth seems especially alive with energy. Many people feel inspired, recharged or uplifted after visiting a vortex.” I passed along a wise nugget shared with me by a local: The vortex can be felt everywhere in Sedona. Yup, in a town with loads of crystal shops offering aura photos and tarot card readings and other magical thinking practices, that seems about right. It’s also an outdoor lover’s paradise where trails … [Read more...] about Reward Yourself After A Challenging Hike In Sedona

Is Affective Computing A Bridge Too Far? It’s Not Like We Always Know What We’re Emoting. Right?
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The aspirational power of artificial intelligence (AI/ML) and machine learning (AI/ML) is objectivity – and now, increasingly, explainability, when objectivity is challenged. We’re surrounded by emotional leaders who make all kinds of mistakes – including embedding algorithmic biases – precisely because they’re emotional. The last thing we need are applications that mimic human emotions or try to interpret what their human partners are feeling to react in some pre-programmed ways. Much more to the point, can we ever do this with the certainty of killing weeds, giving or denying loans or picking ripe apples – activities doing quite well in the well-bounded world we call supervised learning? At the same time, are there “good” applications here? Can emotional messes save and make money? Affective Computing What are we talking about here ? “Affective computing is the study and development of systems and devices … [Read more...] about Is Affective Computing A Bridge Too Far? Once you spot Gen Z’s favorite colors, you’ll see them everywhere
Adrian Chan, an architect and researcher, has always loved the sleek lines of 1960s retrofuturism combined with a muted color palette. Plenty of his past projects leaned on this subdued aesthetic, including his work on Office of Blocks and Longitudinal Studio . Yet, during a recent project he designed for a dietitian’s studio, Chan decided to shake things up by injecting a pop of saturated mint green throughout the space. The client he was designing for wanted to appeal to a wide demographic, including younger clientele, and this statement green (also described as Neo Mint ), felt aligned with a new wave of bold colors popping up in marketing and products. “I think it has to do with technology being all encompassing, but still, people want to be in touch with nature,” Chan says of his choice. “These colors evoke both progress and nature.” You can see similar shades on Skims’ neon-green swimsuits , Futurewise’ s Pepto pink jars, Droplette ’s bright lilac … [Read more...] about Once you spot Gen Z’s favorite colors, you’ll see them everywhere
