As G7 Meets, The World’s Richest Nations Water Down Aid And Climate Finance

June 27, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin As seven of the world’s wealthiest nations meet, it has been revealed that billions of dollars in aid for the poorest countries are being rerouted into climate finance, with G7 nations appearing to indulge in what amounts to a form of creative accounting with regard to their international commitments. A new report from the charity CARE shows that, rather than providing additional money to help developing nations respond to climate change as promised under international agreements, wealthy states like the U.S., Canada and France are consistently overreporting the amount of money they’re providing, while diverting money meant for other development programs. In total, CARE found that an estimated $103 billion of climate finance reported by G7 nations has simply been siphoned straight out of development aid budgets, including funds intended for health, education, gender equality and poverty alleviation. Between 2011 and … [Read more...] about As G7 Meets, The World’s Richest Nations Water Down Aid And Climate Finance

The Top Five Reasons Customers Don’t Come Back

June 26, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Whatever you sell, be it a product or service, your customers expect that it will do what it’s supposed to do. If you sell a car, the car should work. If you sell a service, the outcome should meet expectations. That’s table stakes. So, let’s assume that whatever your customers are buying from you will meet their expectations. However, that’s not always why the customer buys from you in the first place, let alone comes back to buy more. It’s the customer experience that drives that. In our 2022 Achieving Customer Amazement research , more than 1,000 American consumers were asked, “How likely would you be to switch companies or leave a brand after experiencing any of the following bad customer service experiences?” They were asked to rate several reasons using a scale that ranged from “not likely” to “very likely.” Here are the top five reasons customers would leave: 1. Rudeness or apathy from a company or brand … [Read more...] about The Top Five Reasons Customers Don’t Come Back

June 27, 2022 by www.fastcompany.com

The race to save the planet has given an urgency to corporate efforts to make and deliver net-zero carbon commitments. But for their companies to be truly sustainable, CEOs must focus not only on the E in ESG but also on the S and the G. Human rights, workplace safety, fair pay for a fair day’s work, ethical business practices—these are just a few of the social and governance issues that CEOs must address in their company and in the companies they do business with—their suppliers. advertisement advertisement This is not just about complying with regulations. It is about fulfilling the terms of an unwritten social license to operate. But doing the right thing is hard. To help CEOs, we have identified a series of actions that they should instruct their CPO and the procurement team to take in order to address social and governance issues. Zalando Joins Forces With Save Your Wardrobe To Chase Net Positive Fashion Ambition

October 5, 2021 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin When it comes to sustainability and fashion, particularly the fast variety, it would be an understatement to say the industry has a few problems. First and foremost, fast fashion is the third biggest polluter globally , with textile production contributing more to climate change than international aviation and shipping combined . But there’s also the more shadowy and therefore dangerous misperception that the spending behemoth of Gen Z has been molded in a wholly Thunbergian image; despite a considerably raised bar of eco-intentions the infamous specter of the values-actions gap (the disparity between what people say they value/will do vs. what happens when it comes to the crunch) reveals a very different story. Zalando’s Reality Check Fuels Partnership Affirming this, in April this year German multinational e-commerce giant Zalando (45m active consumers, 23 markets and 4500 brands including 300 designer labels) … [Read more...] about Zalando Joins Forces With Save Your Wardrobe To Chase Net Positive Fashion Ambition

Brits Enjoy Summer Of Festivals & Travel Before Increased Economic Worries

June 25, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Glastonbury is in the air with both the record-breaking youngest ever headliner, Billie Eilish, and the oldest, Sir Paul McCartney, taking to the stage. Festival goers have splashed the cash on tickets, transport and tents; all of which might paint a picture of positivity when it comes to the UK’s finances. The reality is much more off-key. Consumer confidence is now at its lowest level for years as many face a cost-of-living crisis, with essentials such as food and fuel prices continuing to spiral. GfK data confirms this. The data company's monthly index which ‘checks the temperature’ of consumer confidence decreased by one point , to -41, in June and a record low. The survey which has been running for over forty years, asks consumers how they feel about personal finances and the UK economy. Despite covering past periods of recession and hardship, today’s consumers say they are feeling financial pain like … [Read more...] about Brits Enjoy Summer Of Festivals & Travel Before Increased Economic Worries

And flawless it is, with its Belle Époque exterior, and a private garden—a true rarity on Avenue Montaigne—with flowers that change with the season. “It was my dream to enter the store through a garden,” says Anne-Lise Cremona, CEO of Henry Jacques Perfumes. “I wanted a house, a place where clients can come and spend time, because luxury is time for yourself—it’s very rare.
