Before Arte Moreno pulled the plug on selling his Los Angeles Angels in January, he would have gotten at least $2.7 billion, or $280 million more than the MLB record $2.42 billion that Steve Cohen paid for the New York Mets in 2020, according to people familiar with the sale process. The average MLB team value is up 12% this year, to $2.32 billion. During the 2022 season, revenue (net of stadium debt service) increased 7.8%, to an all-time high of $10.3 billion. Disney World will host an LGBTQ+ conference on the heels of Disney’s high-profile conflict with Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over LGBT issues in the state. Major Automaker Expects It Will Hemorrhage Billions From Its Electric Vehicle Business
Ford expects to lose $3 billion on its electric vehicle department this year, the company announced Thursday. The company will be reorganizing its financial reporting into three distinct branches, Ford Blue, Ford Model e and Ford Pro, which will develop gas-powered, electric and commercial vehicles respectively, according to a press release. In the three years starting 2021, Ford Model e is expected to report a $3 billion loss. Thai pervert jailed for 2 years for hidden cameras in Australian Embassy, Bangkok
A Thai man was labelled “a serious threat to society” by a judge who sentenced the pervert to two years in jail for allegedly installing hidden cameras in women’s toilets at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok . Nayot “Bank” Thamsongsana, a former IT worker at the Australian embassy in Bangkok, has been convicted in the Bangkok South Criminal Court after pleading guilty to two counts of committing indecent acts against persons over the age of 15 by threatening them. The investigation revealed that the pervert secretly filmed 60 women, all of whom provided statements to the Royal Thai Police. Two of the women who were filmed filed complaints that formed the basis of the prosecution’s case. The judge sentenced Nayot to four years in prison, but this was reduced to two years due to his guilty plea. Biden’s Approval Rating Sinks Towards Lowest Point Of His Presidency: POLL
President Joe Biden’s approval rating plummets towards the lowest point of his presidency on Thursday, according to a new poll. The president’s approval sank to 38% this month, nearly reaching the lowest point he has received in office where he received a 36% rating in July 2022, an AP/NORC poll found. Biden ‘s March approval has dropped from a 45% rating since February and 41% in January. “Neutral towards approval,” Andrew Dwyer, one of the respondents, told The Associated Press. “I don’t think he’s the best at representing my position and issues. But I know being president involves compromises.” Republicans overwhelmingly disapprove of the president at 96%, while the majority of Democrats approve at 76%.
