Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Neurodiversity at work is beginning to mature as a concept, but the practice is still far behind in terms of participation and success. Michael Bernick estimated in 2021 that as few as 1,500 people worldwide are participating in Autism at Work programs. Increasingly, businesses are seeking more holistic pathways which don’t rely on a single neurotype and result in integration, rather than segregation or assimilation. We’re taking the lessons learned from the early trailblazing projects and making them a normal part of business life, just as we aspire to racial equity, gender parity and LGBTQ+ inclusion. And we’re not there yet. The Devil Is In The Detail While broad projects with clear objectives make sense as a starting point, integration involves nuance. Identifying hidden barriers is messy, implicit and buried in social culture and normative mutual expectations. We need to explore the psychodynamics of cognitively … [Read more...] about Is Basic Good Management The Key To Neurodiversity At Work?

Investing in Wine With the NBA’s Elite Players
It's reality check time and we are opening the holiday-shortened trading week in a bear market in the S&P 500 after U.S. stocks had their worst week last week since March of 2020. The Federal Reserve hiked the federal funds rate by three quarters of a percent last week as it tries to cool inflation. I know, I said that would be "out of character" and "off script" on last week's podcast . So, you know the situation is pretty serious, and the Federal Reserve does not have inflation under control. No central bank does, for that matter. It's going to take aggressive interest rate hikes to get to what the Fed calls a normal rate environment (3.4%), which means we may very well see another 75 basis point hike at the Fed's next meeting in July. While that 3.4% may be normal, if you look at the last 50 years, it is not normal when you look at the past decade, which has been characterized by accommodative monetary policy via low interest rates and low inflation well under 2%. This is new … [Read more...] about Investing in Wine With the NBA’s Elite Players

This is a wonderful thing; after all, who doesn’t appreciate avoiding the commute, taking their dog for a walk over lunch or working in their yoga pants all day? My Say: Emerging risks from AI and blockchain systems
This article first appeared in Forum, The Edge Malaysia Weekly, on June 20, 2022 - June 26, 2022. - A + A AI and blockchain systems add a level of risk to the framework of financial risk management that can be categorised as new technological risks that organisations need to be aware of, and updated in the cybersecurity risk framework.
