When you’re hiring new candidates, how much do you prioritize cultural fit? Your answer to this question may depend on whether you’d consider your company’s culture a broth or a gumbo. advertisement advertisement A broth has exactly one consistency and flavor, while a gumbo features distinct ingredients, each one retaining its unique flavor while contributing perfectly to the overall taste. In my years within the DEI space, I’ve observed quite a few companies adopt a “broth” recruiting approach, vetting candidates based on how seamlessly they believe they’ll fit into their existing corporate culture. Ideally, this practice should revolve around assessing how well candidates align with a company’s values and vision. The couple made their pledges before Judge Mario Quinit at the Ormoc Superdome, where supporters, family members, city department officials, and barangay leaders, among others, gathered. Gomez, a multi-awarded actor, said he waited for 21 years to be elected as a congressman. He said he first ran as a congressman in 2001 as a nominee of the Mamamayan Ayaw sa Droga. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, Biden’s ICE Nominee, Withdraws

Harris County, Texas, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, President Joe Biden’s pick to run U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), withdrew Sunday. Biden nominated Gonzalez in April 2021 and he quickly faced questions from Republicans who voiced concerns that he had opposed an ICE screening database. The voluntary database allows for inmates to be screened to determine immigration status, and Gonzalez ultimately opted to end the program for his office in 2017, the Houston Chronicle reported at the time. Suspect ‘Executed’ 9-Year-Old Daughter Of Ex-Lover, On The Run, Police Say

Houston authorities are searching for a gunman on the run who allegedly “executed” a 9-year-old girl and injured her mother Monday night. The mother was watching television with her three children, ages nine, three and one when her ex-boyfriend, Jeremiah Jones, allegedly showed up at the apartment shortly before 11:00 p.m., according to Fox Houston . “The family got separated. The suspect here, executed a nine-year-old little girl in the apartment with a handgun,” Det. Sgt. Michael Cass said. “He then went after the mother and she was shot.” The mother was reportedly shot near the shoulder and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The nine-year-old girl was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead, according to the report. Jones has been charged with capital murder and was out on bond for gun-related crimes at the time of the shooting.
