Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Real estate agents know that repping a famous client comes with its fair share of pros and cons—but when the property itself is a celebrity in its own right, that’s a whole other story. Just ask Juli Martin , the principal broker for Oregon-based boutique agency LUXE . Martin’s newest listing , a 5,400 square foot farmhouse on roughly 16-acres known as Roloff Farms, has served as a setting for the hit reality show Little People, Big World for more than 20 years. Matt Roloff , star of the popular TLC series soon to be entering its 22nd season, is selling the five-bedroom, six-bathroom homestead where he and ex-wife, Amy Roloff, raised their four children. “Part of the process is you have to be as transparent as possible to reduce the noise and clutter,” Martin says. I recently sat down with the luxury specialist and former comedian to discuss Roloff Farms and the particulars of listing a famous … [Read more...] about Roloff Farms Property Agent Talks Selling The ‘Little People, Big World’ Setting

Luretta Winery Goes Its Own Way In Tradition-Bound Emilia-Romagna
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin While the food of Emilia-Romagna, centered by Bologna, is considered some of the most sumptuous in Italy, its reputation as a wine region has lagged well behind others like Piedmont, Tuscany and Campania. Known primarily for its sparkling Lambruscos, which can be as cloyingly sweet as Hawaiian Punch, Emilia-Romagna’s only other familiar wine is Albana di Romagna. One winery, however, located in Piacenza, has been as forward-looking as any in Italy. Over dinner in New York I interviewed Lucio Salamini, owner of Luretta-Castello di Momeliano, which was only founded as of 1988, which now make a wide variety of non-traditional DOP wines. Your estate is nearly half a century old, located in Piacenza in Emilia-Romagna, which has not had a reputation for fine wines. How have you worked to overcome the image that was set by cheap Lambrusco? Piacenza is still an uncharted territory for many. It is part of Emilia Romagna … [Read more...] about Luretta Winery Goes Its Own Way In Tradition-Bound Emilia-Romagna

Texas Faces Another Winter With An Underpowered Electric Grid
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The Texas Public Utility Commission, fully reconstituted with new appointees by Governor Greg Abbott since last February, is still working on creating a model for revamping its regulations that govern the state’s electricity market, but no final rule has yet been proposed. The PUC’s new chairman, Peter Lake, recently told the Dallas Morning News that he plans to introduce a “strawman” soon that will serve as a starting point for negotiations over revised rules. That’s great, but comes far too late to protect consumers through this coming winter. Whether new regulations will ultimately impose any real requirements for winterization of existing facilities and demand or incentivize the building of much-needed new thermal generating capacity on the state’s grid is something no one is able to currently guarantee. This is the reality Texans face today as the coming winter approaches. It is a reality that reflects the state … [Read more...] about Texas Faces Another Winter With An Underpowered Electric Grid
Ducati North America CEO Jason Chinnock: Widening Our Brand Appeal, Remaining True To Our Core
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Ducati is among the most coveted motorcycle brands in the world. For decades the Italian brand’s sleek styling, aggressive exhaust notes and successful racing campaigns earned it the coveted “Ferrari of motorcycles” description. This description proved particularly ironic when Ferrari’s chief rival, Lamborghini, purchased Ducati in 2012, as authorized by Lamborghini’s parent company, Volkswagen AG. Concerns that Volkswagen’s ownership would dilute Ducati’s passion and purity have proven false. In fact, Ducati enjoyed record global sales last year, with U.S. sales up 32 percent to just over 9,000 units. Jason Chinnock has served as Ducati North America’s CEO since 2016, though he started with the company in 2004 after working at a Ducati dealership in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Jason has played a key role in the successful launch of multiple new bikes as Ducati’s model line has widened. While superbikes and naked street … [Read more...] about Ducati North America CEO Jason Chinnock: Widening Our Brand Appeal, Remaining True To Our Core
When will Democrats deliver on their promise to restore net neutrality?
When the Federal Communications Commission voted to institute strong net neutrality rules in 2015, it was because millions of people from across the political spectrum spoke out. If there’s one thing everyone can agree on, it’s that cable and phone companies shouldn’t be able to screw us over more than they already do, or dictate which websites and apps we can use. advertisement advertisement When the Trump administration’s notorious FCC chairman Ajit Pai repealed those Obama-era protections in 2017, the move sparked some of the largest online protests in human history. Sorry, Irate Liberals Hellbent On Censorship, Tucker Carlson Has Consistently Called For ‘Colorblind Meritocracy’
Irate liberals are calling for Daily Caller co-founder and Fox News host Tucker Carlson to be censored by claiming he inspired the Buffalo supermarket shooter after Carlson talked about replacement theory in regards to elections. As usual, it turns out liberals hellbent on censorship left out several key points. To preface, the primary suspect in the attack, 18-year-old Payton Gendron, posted a lengthy manifesto online just prior to allegedly carrying out the horrific shooting. He talked about how whites are being replaced throughout the nation, an idea known as part of the white replacement theory. There is not a single mention of Carlson, but there are several mentions of left-leaning talking points such as saving the environment, his dislike for corporations, as well as how the lockdowns contributed to his decision to carry out the heinous attack. Of course, his very own writings about his motives aren’t newsworthy enough for left-leaning corporate media. So it only makes … [Read more...] about Sorry, Irate Liberals Hellbent On Censorship, Tucker Carlson Has Consistently Called For ‘Colorblind Meritocracy’
MEHLMAN: If The GOP Takes Congress In November, They Will Have A Mandate To End The Border Crisis
Barring a miracle of biblical proportions, the Biden administration’s disastrous record on – well, there are actually too many issues to name – will result in the Democratic Party losing its slim majorities in both chambers of Congress. By default, Republicans are almost certain to be in charge of the legislative branch of government in 2023 and will have to demonstrate to the American public that they are up to the task of remedying the countless crises wrought by the Biden administration. One of those crises is the self-inflicted mess at the border. Even White House spin doctors haven’t found a way to blame Putin for that one. President Biden and his hand-picked Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, did it all by themselves with Democrats on Capitol Hill marching along. As the minority party, Republicans have been able to rail against the administration’s blatant subversion of our immigration laws and the grievous harm that is being inflicted on the country, but … [Read more...] about MEHLMAN: If The GOP Takes Congress In November, They Will Have A Mandate To End The Border Crisis
