Here, we’re forecasted to get several days of snow! Huzzah! I mean, what really differentiates Spring from Winter is, um, the snow . . . or something. Yeah, I’m sick of the snow. Just when you think it’s going to finally melt, a new storm swoops in. But I don’t want to complain too much. We badly need it, for one thing. I’ll take snow over devastating wildfires any day of the week. Also, even though we’ve had more snow than most places in the country, we’re nowhere near as snowed-in as Mammoth Lakes, California: Mammoth Lakes has gotten 500 inches of snow this winter , which is great for a town built on skiing and snowboarding tourism, but must be an enormous pain for anyone trying to actually get anywhere. When the trailer dropped last summer, I noted that it looked “surprisingly great” and then I tried hard to keep my expectations in check. I’ve been down this road before, and pretty recently. I had my hopes up for The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power and we all know how that turned out. Then there was the Willow Disney Plus series, which left me heartbroken. Far too often these days, movies and TV shows are a huge disappointment, especially when they’re adaptations or sequels. The creators of The Rings Of Power clearly didn’t understand Tolkien. The creators of Willow created a show that feels nothing whatsoever like the original movie. In fantasy especially this seems like a problem. Los Angeles meteorologist Alissa Carlson Schwartz suffered a horrifying on-air emergency while reporting live on Saturday.
