California has become the seventh state to ban auto insurers from using gender as one of the factors that they can use to calculate the rates customers pay. Carlos Zarate vowed to block the recommendation to extend martial law in Mindanao, which the Makabayan bloc believes will only lead to more human rights violations "Truth to tell, this move to further extend martial rule can even be used to influence the elections in Mindanao and ensure the victory of administration bets," warned Zarate. "Along with other affected residents and sectors from Mindanao, we will oppose this new proposal to extend martial rule," the lawmaker added.
