March 27, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin With a week to go before the annual Home Opener, the Milwaukee Brewers announced that fans attending games at American Family Field this season will be able to enjoy a handful of new concession items while saving a few bucks on some popular favorites. The price of a 16-ounce domestic beer highlights the list of 11 concession items that will receive a price cut of up to 15% this season, according to president of business operations Rick Schlesinger. In addition, 12 of the ballparks concession stands will offer a new “414 Value Menu,” featuring four items — junior hot dogs, junior nachos, a box of Cracker Jack and small sodas — that cost $4 each. PXG’s Newest Driver Debuts With Surprising Price Tag

March 27, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The newest driver in PXG’s flagship 0311 line of golf clubs is making its debut with a couple of notable differentiators. The first is price tag. When PXG released its first clubs back in 2015, the brand was known for the high price points that accompanied its high-tech offerings. As the company has grown and evolved over the years, it’s been able to offer a wider range of products at a variety of price points — taking advantage of economies of scale and more efficient manufacturing processes. While still pigeon-holed by many golfers as a “pricey” equipment company, it’s notable that PXG’s 0311 GEN6 driver made from a high-strength, proprietary titanium alloy has a retail price of about $500. That’s about $100 less than the newest driver offerings from many of the other top club manufacturers in the industry. Also of note, PXG launched its newest GEN6 clubs — driver, fairway woods, hybrids and irons — in … [Read more...] about PXG’s Newest Driver Debuts With Surprising Price Tag

Saudi National Bank Chair Quits After Comments Helped Push Credit Suisse Into Tailspin

March 27, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Topline The chairman of Saudi National Bank, which was the largest shareholder of Credit Suisse, has resigned, according to a statement published Monday on the Saudi stock exchange, weeks after his comments helped tip the beleaguered Swiss bank’s share price into freefall, spooking already skittish financial markets and ultimately leading to a takeover by its compatriot rival UBS. Key Facts SNB’s board said in a statement it has “accepted” Ammar Al Khudairy’s resignation, which was “due to personal reasons.” The move comes days after Al Khudairy said SNB would “absolutely not” pump any more money into the struggling Swiss bank, pushing its stock to a record low earlier this month and helping drag other European banks down as well. Swiss banking giant UBS ultimately struck a $3.2 billion deal to rescue its longtime national rival, which was brokered by Swiss authorities and came at a steep discount … [Read more...] about Saudi National Bank Chair Quits After Comments Helped Push Credit Suisse Into Tailspin

New Apple Exclusive Exposes iPhone 15 Display Problem

March 27, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Leaks claim the iPhone 15 range is making several eye-catching design changes , but it turns out that a far more innocuous one is actually causing Apple the most problems. According to a new report from The Elec , issues have arisen with light bleed from OLED panels made by partner BOE for the iPhone 15: The OLED panel being planned for the standard model of iPhone 15 is similar to those used in iPhone 14 but now it has a hole at the top for the front camera and various sensors. BOE is facing light leak problems around the hole and has missed the chance become one of the initial suppliers of the hole-display panels. The light leak problem is different from those in a liquid crystal display -- which happens when the light from the backlight unit is not covered properly by the panel. In hole-display, the light leaks directly from the hole as the areas within the hole are not probably covered. The … [Read more...] about New Apple Exclusive Exposes iPhone 15 Display Problem

MicroStrategy Sticks With Long-Term Bitcoin Strategy But Uses Short-Term Sale For Tax Benefit

January 5, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin MicroStrategy MSTR , the business-software company that has a thing for bitcoin still loves the cryptocurrency even though it sold some for tax purposes last month, employing a tactic that could help other long-term fans ease the pain from the asset’s months-long slide. As part of a flurry of late-year transactions, MicroStrategy sold about 704 bitcoins at an average price of $16,776 on December 22, the first time the company had divested any holdings of the leading cryptocurrency. But that followed purchases of about 2,395 tokens for about $17,871 each from November 1-December 21. The company said in an SEC filing that it planned to use losses generated by the sale to diminish previous capital gains, which could result in tax benefits. It also said it turned around and bought 810 bitcoins on December 22 at about $16,485 each, meaning MicroStrategy had a net increase of about 2,501 in its bitcoin hoard since the … [Read more...] about MicroStrategy Sticks With Long-Term Bitcoin Strategy But Uses Short-Term Sale For Tax Benefit

Tencent’s Cash Dividend Weighs On Meituan

March 27, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Key News Asian equity markets were mixed overnight on light volumes as investors worried about financial contagion. Hong Kong had a volatile day as Jack Ma’s visit to China lifted Alibaba and the market, a rally that ran out of out of steam in the afternoon. Baidu fell -3.17% due to rumors of a delay in its ERNIE chat bot launch. Meituan fell -6.28% and was today’s most heavily traded in Hong Kong by value after the company’s Q4 financial results, which were announced after the close on Friday, beat estimates. The stock’s drop is likely driven by Tencent’s decision to deliver a cash spinoff of Meituan, rather than shares, which obviously requires selling Meituan shares in the open market. Healthcare was the only positive sector in both Hong Kong and Mainland China after CSPC Pharma’s mRNA Covid-19 vaccine was approved. Mainland markets were off though “outperformed,” i.e. they fell less than Hong Kong as CNY and the … [Read more...] about Tencent’s Cash Dividend Weighs On Meituan

Does Tapestry’s Stock Have More Room For Growth?

March 27, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Note: Tapestry’s FY’22 ended on July 2, 2022. After a 42% growth over the last six months, at the current price of around $41 per share, we believe Tapestry (NYSE: TPR) , a luxury goods retailer of handbags, shoes, and accessories under the Coach, Kate Spade, and Stuart Weitzman brands - could see modest growth. TPR stock has increased from around $29 to $41 in the last six months, compared to an 8% rise in the S&P index. The company’s stock has bounced back as of late after the company reported impressive earning results during this period - despite the increase in transportation costs and higher inflationary pressures. Also, Coach has a more significant physical presence in China, which is expected to be the key beneficiary of China’s reopening. China’s luxury market is rapidly recovering from the pandemic with greater strength and resilience. It is expected to reach around $112 billion by 2025, or approximately … [Read more...] about Does Tapestry’s Stock Have More Room For Growth?
