Less well known proponents, but perhaps even more influential, are the proxy advisory firms ISS and Glass Lewis, who control 97 percent of the proxy advisory market. Proxy advisory firms advise institutional investors (like Vanguard, BlackRock, and State Street) and dozens of state retirement systems on how to vote on the thousands of shareholder resolutions which arise every year. The Supreme Court of India On February 7, the Supreme Court dismissed a case which asked it to reconsider a recommendation by the collegium to appoint Victoria Gowri as a judge of Madras High Court. It was alleged that Gowri had made some hate speeches against minority communities in the past and was affiliated to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While the case was being heard by the Supreme Court, the Centre had already notified her appointment, and Gowri was administered the oath of office by the Chief Justice of Madras High Court. Lawyers appearing against Gowri’s judgeship however, made it clear that they were not against her being affiliated to a political party, but wanted to question her eligibility to hold a Constitutional post owing to her ‘hate speech’. Oasis, a dawn-delivery success story, to list on Korea’s Kosdaq

[OASIS] Oasis, a Korean e-commerce company that's actually profitable, is set to list on Kosdaq on Feb. 23 in an offering that could raise as much as 206.8 million, with some of the proceeds going to the largest shareholder. If the initial public offering (IPO) goes as planned, Oasis will be the first domestic e-commerce operator to go public. Other e-commerce companies, such as Kurly and SSG.com, have either postponed or canceled. Coupang, another major e-commerce operator, listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021. Founded in 2011, Oasis started off by focusing on developing and selling organic goods through it physical stores. Korean companies offer money, donations to earthquake-hit Turkey, Syria
Doosan Bobcat's excavator to be used for disaster relief in Turkey [DOOSAN GROUP] Korean companies are sending donations and equipment to Turkey and Syria as part of emergency relief efforts following a massive earthquake that resulted in more than 7,000 deaths. Doosan Group announced Wednesday that the corporation will send around 1.25 billion won ($1 million) worth of Doosan Bobcat's construction equipment for disaster relief in Turkey. Doosan plans to promptly deliver the equipment, with the support of a local contractor, to be used for rescuing people and restoring basic infrastructure such as roads and buildings. The equipment to be delivered includes skid loaders and excavators to remove debris and portable power generators and lighting equipment to be used at sites with no electricity. "We hope these can provide practical help in disaster relief and damage repair," a spokesperson for Doosan said Wednesday. She is the first-ever English goalkeeper, either male or female, to achieve this feat. Earps, England's ever-present goalkeeper during their victory at the UEFA Women's Euro last summer, has been shortlisted alongside Lyon's Champions League winning goalkeeper, Christiane Endler of Chile, and Chelsea's Ann-Katrin Berger.
