HART: Dems’ Dearth Of Ideas Spawns Weaponization Of Government Against Opponents
Instead of trying to win over voters by putting forward the best thinking in the marketplace of ideas, Democrats use government to make people do what they want them to do. If the people do not, the Dems use their intermittent control of government brute force and their perpetual control of “Deep State” bureaucracies to go after their enemies. The only thing Dems have done while in power, other than wreck the economy and create inflation, is to use their law enforcement goons to go after their enemies. They go from the Russian hoax/Mueller investigation to a series of impeachments of Trump for trivial matters, to the Jan. 6 show “hearings” and throwing people in jail with no charges for months over the “insurrection.” They want to send FBI agents to local school board meetings in case some parent dares to disagree with their draconian policies. Adding to their most recent acts of petulance was another government goon, pre-dawn raid on one of Trump’s attorneys. Their vicious thirst … [Read more...] about HART: Dems’ Dearth Of Ideas Spawns Weaponization Of Government Against Opponents

Cricket-England strike late to seize control of Headingley test
LEEDS, England (Reuters) - England's bowlers struck three times in quick succession late on day three to take control of the final test against New Zealand at Headingley on Saturday and stay on course for a 3-0 series sweep. The tourists were on 168-5 and led England by 137 runs when rain brought a premature halt to the day's play. New Zealand got off to a promising start in their second innings thanks to a fluent half-century from Tom Latham (76) but lost their way after the opener was dismissed by debutant Jamie Overton (1-34) off the first ball after tea. Devon Conway (11) was soon to follow, succumbing to Joe Root's part-time off-spin before England landed the big scalp of opposition skipper Kane Williamson, who perished for 48 after edging behind to Matthew Potts (2-20). Jack Leach (1-26) also got in on the act after Henry Nicholls (7) chipped one straight back to him as New Zealand collapsed from 125-1 to 161-5. Private lenders are offering cheaper debt than Wall Street banks
- A + A DUBLIN/LONDON (June 29): A dirty little secret in a US$1.2 trillion world of credit is getting exposed as the Wall Street rout deepens: Private debt is now the cheaper financing option for big-ticket leveraged borrowers than the ailing public market — upending industry norms. As banks get pummelled by risk aversion and sinking asset values, direct lenders are lavishing risky companies and private-equity firms with capital at rates below what’s available in the volatility-lashed high yield and syndicated loan market. These asset managers are so desperate to unleash all the billions amassed in the low-yield era that they’re increasingly putting up with lower returns than their risk-averse peers in other parts of the credit world are willing to stomach. As traditional lenders beat a retreat, the bonanza is helping power leveraged buyouts with deals including The Access Group, Davies Group, Ivirma Group and Zendesk. “We have seen a few cases in which private … [Read more...] about Private lenders are offering cheaper debt than Wall Street banks
MOH receives 528 complaints on bogus dental practitioners
Reuters filepix for illustration purpose only - A + A KUALA NERUS (June 29): The Ministry of Health (MOH) received a total of 528 complaints on illegal dental practitioners throughout the country from 2017 to 2021. MOH senior director (Dental Health) Dr Noormi Othman said of these complaints, 377 or 71.4% involved fake braces; 58 (11%) on dental veneers (crowns) and 93 (19.6%) on dentures, tooth extraction and teeth whitening. "The number of complaints rose between 2017 and 2019 but decreased during the 2020-2021 period. The drop might be due to increasing public awareness of bogus dentists or enforcement of the Movement Control Order (PKP) which restricted their activities. "However, we are concerned that the transition to the endemic phase will see their activities rising again," she told reporters, adding that Kuala Lumpur and Selangor recorded the highest number of complaints. Earlier, Dr Noormi launched the "Say No To Fake Dentist!" 2022 campaign, … [Read more...] about MOH receives 528 complaints on bogus dental practitioners
