Controversial attention-seeking right-wing rapper Kanye West has once again made waves. Kanye hosted a surprise fashion show during Paris Fashion Week where he wore a t-shirt reading “White Lives Matter”. The American rapper made headlines recently after all ties were cut between his Yeezy sneaker line and GAP and Adidas. The unannounced fashion show took place at a secret venue with some of the most high-profile designers in attendance. Top models wore Kanye’s new collection, called Yzyszn9. One shirt worn by models and also sported by Kanye himself was a long-sleeve t-shirt that had Pope John Paul II on the front with the words “White Lives Matter” printed in a large font on the back. The shirt is an overt reference to the Black Lives Matter movement that has grown in the United States and abroad. The movement started in 2013 but rose to prominence in 2020 when white police officers knelt on the neck of George Floyd until he was dead while taking him into custody on the street … [Read more...] about Kanye West’s “White Lives Matter” shirt at Paris Fashion Week

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Monica, CMO of SOCi , holds 20+ years of tenure in digital marketing & advertising, with a foundation in sales, strategy, and data analytics. A CMO’s job is incredibly tough, and the role’s demands are showing in CMO tenures. According to SpencerStuart , the average CMO tenure in 2021 was down to 40 months—tied for 2020 as the shortest in over a decade. A lot feeds into this challenge of short tenure, but one area where marketers can do more is better understanding how their role evolves. What a CMO does at a fast-moving startup often changes as quickly as the company does. And those CMOs who don’t realize they’re playing a different role at each growth stage may find that their work isn’t providing much of an impact. Change The CMO Playbook I’ve found that the complexity of a CMO’s job is accelerating. They have to be creative, use more technology and data, build and manage teams, and stand out … [Read more...] about Beat Short CMO Tenure By Learning The Stages Of Leadership
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin SoftBank invests in the new company Today, Izuma Networks announced the acquisition of SoftBank’s Pelion edge software business, including the IoT device management products. Izuma inherits the extensive software and intellectual property portfolio that Arm’s IoT Services Group (ISG) developed from 2013 to 2020. While concentrating on connectivity, Pelion put the device management and edge software portfolio in maintenance mode, supporting … [Read more...] about Izuma Networks Acquires SoftBank’s Pelion IoT Device Management Business
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin I visited Fiji last winter when it had some of the strictest COVID-19 travel protocols of any destination, including testing before departure, testing on arrival, special mandatory insurance to cover potential quarantine housing, and on top of all that, some individual resorts had their own testing on arrival requirements. It was a lot of hoops to jump through, but it was worth it, because Fiji was wonderful, and is in many ways, is a true Bucket List tropical paradise, justifiably renowned as a honeymoon destination. But now travel to Fiji is much easier, and last month, the country dropped the last of its strict requirements, eliminating both testing upon arrival and testing to board flights to Fiji. As a nation of islands, the main appeals revolve around beaches and ocean. Relaxation and escapism are big draws, but Fiji is also a world-class Scuba diving destination, home to some of the very best diving in the … [Read more...] about Fiji Reopens With Great Private Island Resorts For Every Traveler
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin President Biden’s plan to raise taxes on very high-income households died in Congress. But the idea of lives on in the states. Initiatives on November ballots in California and Massachusetts have the same goal. And both are linked to explicit, broadly popular, new spending. The California initiative (Proposition 30) would impose a surtax of 1.75 percent on annual incomes in excess of $2 million, on top of the state’s top rate of 12.3 percent. It would raise between $3.5 billion and $5 billion annually, rising over time, according to a state estimate. About 80 percent of the money would be used to promote zero emission vehicles and the rest would fund efforts to prevent and control wildfires. The Massachusetts referendum (Question 1 or the “Fair Share Amendment”) is even more dramatic. It calls for a 4 percent surtax on personal incomes in excess of $1 million, on top of the state’s existing 5 percent income tax rate. … [Read more...] about Congress Failed To Raise Taxes On Millionaires. Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin There’s something magical about fall at the Jersey Shore. The massive summer crowds have dwindled leaving behind a sense of serenity as you stroll along one of the shore’s iconic boardwalks. With very few people populating the sandy beaches, the soothing sounds of the onrushing waves appear to be amplified. Only a few weeks earlier the beaches and boardwalks were teeming with activity as hordes of ocean lovers congregated upon New Jersey’s most popular shore towns, a tradition that began with the construction of the world’s first boardwalk in Atlantic City in 1870. The Jersey Shore, which stretches 141 miles of oceanfront along the Atlantic Ocean, is a vacation destination unlike any other as witnessed by the more than 100 million people who come each year to ride the waves, build sand castles, enjoy the many amusement parks, sample the freshest seafood available or play some games of chance. Atlantic City remains the … [Read more...] about Fall At The Jersey Shore: An Idyllic Time To Visit
