Franklin Templeton is here to stay in India, we are hiring and getting ready to launch new funds: Sanjay Sapre
Sanjay Sapre is the current President of Franklin Templeton India. His term ends in July 2022. Late evening on April 23, 2020, Sanjay Sapre , president of Franklin Templeton Asset Management (India) Ltd, made probably, one of the most awkward public announcements in his life—that of winding up six of the fund house’s marquee debt funds. These were all open-ended debt funds and weren’t meant to be shut down. Franklin Templeton believed that by winding up the schemes, it would buy the fund house time to sell its illiquid securities once market conditions improved. At the time, the COVID-19 global pandemic was declared, equity markets had fallen sharply and the debt market had frozen. Debt fund investors rushed to take their money out and fund houses everywhere saw redemptions. Franklin Templeton India was the worst affected because it had been running a high-yield strategy across six of its debt schemes, totaling assets worth Rs 25,215 crore as of April 23, 2020. Its … [Read more...] about Franklin Templeton is here to stay in India, we are hiring and getting ready to launch new funds: Sanjay Sapre
Headwinds And Tailwinds Clash In Derailed New Mexico Hydrogen Bill
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Last month, House Bill 4, called the Hydrogen Hub Development Act, was voted down by the committee on House Energy, Environment and Natural Resources. There were various reasons for this. The bill would contain tax incentives to start a new industry that would be part of the transition to renewable energies but would link to the booming oil and gas industry. The oil and gas industry would provide the natural gas to produce the hydrogen, and then sequester or bury the carbon-dioxide (CO2) bi-product underground – a process called carbon capture and storage (CCS). Hydrogen generated in this way from methane is called blue hydrogen. Additionally, the bill is amongst the first in the United States to include specific incentives for the production of hydrogen from renewable natural gas, which can yield “carbon-negative” hydrogen. Such pathways do not implicate the oil and gas industry, but are a unique feature that … [Read more...] about Headwinds And Tailwinds Clash In Derailed New Mexico Hydrogen Bill

The New Development Bank (NDB) has reached out to India Exim Bank with an offer to co-finance trade infrastructure across the world. While India remains a stakeholder in the multilateral NDB, any prospective partnership will mark the first time that it partners with China, considered to be a major global rival in all forms of multilateral finance, including export credit, and project exports in particular. "I invite India Exim Bank to identify some priority projects, in trade enabled infrastructure, which involves both the elements of physical infrastructure as well as of technology," NDB President Marcos Prado Troyjo said. New Sci-Fi Film ‘The Message’ Is In Development, Plot Details Sounds Awesome
The new sci-fi movie “The Message” sounds like it’s going to be awesome. The Hollywood Reporter reported the following details on the plot, which is based on a short story from Ken Liu: The story centers on an archeologist whose job is to investigate and preserve the legacy of extinct civilizations on distant planets and who is reunited with the teenage daughter he never knew he had. As they explore a mysterious ruin with a cryptic message written on it, they discover their own relationship as well as a secret that will forever change their lives. There isn’t a cast put together yet or a known release date, but I’m still juiced. I’m a gigantic sucker for science fiction movies. Anything involving aliens is almost always something I’m willing to check out. It’s just the way it is, and I know there are plenty of people out there like me. Sci-fi is just an outstanding genre with plenty of great content. Throw in a plot line about mysterious messages and an unknown … [Read more...] about New Sci-Fi Film ‘The Message’ Is In Development, Plot Details Sounds Awesome
