Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin When the pandemic hit, dozens of industries suffered from its effects. Particularly affected was the retail brick-and-mortar industry. As retail sales plummeted, in-store visitations slumped, and browsing all but became a thing of the past, many wondered if the in-store shopping experience was extinct. But lately, we’ve seen a resurgence of in-store shopping, with many eager to return to that brick-and-mortar experience. I spoke with Bobby Marhamat, CEO of Raydiant , the leading in-location experience platform, to learn more about how retailers can create a seamless shopping experience. I wanted to understand how brick-and-mortar retailers could offer both the benefits of online shopping and the in-store experience while surmounting the industry's current challenges. The servers were also hit with two DDoS attacks, which required an “all hands on deck” response from the Overwatch team. MORE FROM FORBES Overwatch 2's Brutal Launch Day Issues Were The Cherry On Top Of A Messy Debut By Kris Holt In an update , Overwatch 2 community manager Jodie Grace noted that Blizzard has addressed some of the problems and is in the process of taking care of other issues. Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Due to a relatively rapid shift in supply chains and related conditions, buying and selling critical materials isn’t as easy as it used to be for businesses. In response, resident procurement teams and suppliers are going through a massive transformation to reap a more competitive advantage. Faced with an unpredictable global economy, global manufacturers are tasked to manage risk better and prioritize digitalization, optimize MRO spend analysis, or implement a supplier intelligence solution as part of their procurement processes. These reformed goals mark a pronounced shift for procurement executives: transitioning their plans and strategies from purely tactical operations to a new strategic decision-making model, using AI-enabled technology . This will enable them to move closer to what Gartner IT has identified as “ autonomous procurement ,” which has the potential to drive efficiency and savings to new heights when … [Read more...] about Winds Of Change: Adapting To Procurement Change With Artificial Intelligence
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Is time finally running out on this Chinese-owned social media’s effort to grab the data, and even control the minds, of its 100 million monthly U.S. users? After months of bickering, it appears a deal allowing TikTok to be sold to an American buyer has won the Trump administration’s tentative approval, involving software giant Oracle ORCL getting a minority stake in the Chinese company. while “hosting all U.S. user data and securing associated computer systems to ensure U.S. national security requirements are fully satisfied,” according to a statement issued by TikTok. Although Oracle is one of the few Silicon Valley companies that “gets it” regarding the China threat, some critics say the deal is insufficient to rein in the potential malicious uses of TikTok. Now there are concerns about the TikTok algorithm which, it is alleged, injects pro-Beijing propaganda into its services. Others say the algorithm ha s been … [Read more...] about Is Time Running Out For TikTok?
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Fewer challenges confound organizations more than decision making , despite the extensive body of knowledge available on the subject. In many companies, it is a source of immense confusion, bitter rivalry, lost productivity, and wasted resources. One reason is that most of the focus on decision science zeroes in on the decision maker, the individual leader and their biases , anxieties, power issues, and instincts. But within organizations, decision making is a distributed capability in which thousands of decisions are being made at the same time across a vast network of departments and geographies. Setting priorities, allocating resources, hiring and firing people, resolving crises; decisions ranging from high-risk strategic choices to low risk tactical choices – organizations are a complex ecosystem of perpetual decision making. While we have lots of insight about the singular decision itself, surprisingly little has … [Read more...] about Are You Making The Most Of Your Data To Drive Quality Decision Making?
Although cryptocurrencies dominated headlines at the outset of 2018, by the end of the year legal cannabis has assumed the mantle of most-hyped new area of investment. A host of important changes took place across the year to bring about this transition: first, cryptocurrencies suffered devastating losses in the first few months of the year, and even the top digital tokens have so far been unable to recover their old splendor. Second, the legal cannabis space has grown at a tremendous pace in 2018. Certainly one of the biggest news stories of the year was Canada's legalization of recreational marijuana use for adults in October, but beyond that there have been many other signs of progress. More and more states in the U.S. have ratified measures legalizing some form of marijuana use. The first cannabis-based drug treatment received FDA approval. Top companies have expanded their operations dramatically. The overall number of pot stocks available to the everyday consumer has spiked. … [Read more...] about Marijuana Stock Winners and Losers in 2018

Gavin Newsom (D) signed a new law in effect requiring California companies with 15 or more employees to post job salary ranges, starting Jan. 1 of next year. It was hardly a surprise: I wrote back in May about the bill after it was passed by the state senate, and the wide-ranging—even game-changing —implications it could have. Yes, it’s an effort to close the gender pay gap, as Forbes senior contributor Alonzo Martinez writes. But as the sixth jurisdiction to pass similar legislation—and by far the largest—it could also be a tipping point that will prompt employers, even in places where it’s not required, to share … [Read more...] about The New Pay Transparency, Plunging Job Openings And ‘Acting Your Wage’
