Kingfish came into prominence in 2019 when he brought out his first eponymous album Kingfish on Alligator Records. He was 19 years old. Since then, from his hometown of Clarksdale, Mississippi to stages around the world, Kingfish has headlined two national tours and performed with such artists as Buddy Guy.
