Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin A month of Xbox Game Pass for $1 has been a staple of the program since launch, a way to get players on board by showing them the vast array of games, then convincing them to keep the subscription once the price gets upped on Ultimate to $14.99 a month after that. Now, that era is over. Microsoft has officially confirmed that the $1 trial month deal is going away: “We have stopped our previous introductory offer for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass and are evaluating different marketing promotions for new members in the future,” Xbox head of global communications Kari Perez told The Verge in a statement . It’s a bit…abrupt to stop the $1 deal without a “different marketing promotion for new members” to replace it. This has naturally set off a period of console war flaming about how it’s a sign Game Pass is desperate for cash and wants all that money up front without the $1 trial in place. I don’t … [Read more...] about A Theory As To Why Microsoft Stopped Its $1 Xbox Game Pass Deal

Black Couple’s Comic Book Company Creates Characters Who Look Like Them—And Their Kids
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin When Manuel and Geiszel Godoy got married 14 years ago and had kids, they started paying to attention to a jarring phenomenon: They couldn’t find any comic books for their children with characters who looked like them. But Manuel and Geiszel decided not to simply accept the situation. Instead, seven years ago, they formed Black Sands Entertainment , a Delaware-based company that produces comic books and graphic novels for young readers in the Black community. They feature Black characters, telling stories of ancient Africa. “I didn’t want to constantly see only Hollywood versions of the ancient cultures of Africa,” says Manuel. ADVERTISEMENT Now, with $3 million in revenue, the company is focused on a strategy to boost growth, primarily through sales to schools. Starting Up Manuel and Geiszel both were stationed in the army in the early 2000’s, mostly in Germany, she for three-and-and-a-half years, he … [Read more...] about Black Couple’s Comic Book Company Creates Characters Who Look Like Them—And Their Kids
Improve Your Short Game With The Best Putters Of The Year
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin It’s about time us golfers gave more thought to the best putters that are sure to shake up what might otherwise be a rusty short game. Many of us (perhaps you included) worry too much about having the right driver or iron, but even more of us neglect the importance of a proper putting instrument. Legendary players from Arnold Palmer to Ben Hogan insisted that amateur golfers can drastically improve their scores from 50 yards into the green. Indeed, for most golfers, the majority of your score comes from what happens on and around that green. Having the best putter to help you navigate the speeds and breaks of the green can make or break your round. As the saying goes, “Drive for show, putt for dough.” Whether you like it or not, if you want to get the ball in the hole, you will be spending most of your time on and around the green. It’s important to have a putter that not only looks great, but feels great too. Of course, … [Read more...] about Improve Your Short Game With The Best Putters Of The Year
In Healthcare’s Game Of Monopoly, One Player Will Control The Board
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin In healthcare, as in life, people devote a lot of time and attention to the way things should be. They’d be better off focusing on what actually could be. As an example, 57% to 70% of American voters believe our nation “should” adopt a single-payer healthcare system like Medicare For All. Likewise, public health advocates insist that more of the nation’s $4 trillion healthcare budget “should” be spent on combating the social determinants of health: things like housing insecurity, low-wage jobs and other socioeconomic stresses. Neither of these ideas will happen, nor will dozens of positive healthcare solutions that “should” happen. When the things that should happen don’t, there’s always a reason. In healthcare, the biggest roadblock to change is what I call the conglomerate of monopolies , which includes hospitals , drug companies , private-equity-staked physicians and commercial health insurers . These … [Read more...] about In Healthcare’s Game Of Monopoly, One Player Will Control The Board
‘The Glory’ Is Netflix’s New Sleeper Korean Megahit You Need To Watch
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin While it’s not getting nearly the same headlines as Squid Game, Netflix absolutely has a new Korean superhit on its hands with The Glory, a revenge thriller that recently wrapped up its 16 episode first season run after airing in two parts. I’ve been watching it over the last few days, and while I’ve just finally seen it drop out of the Netflix top 10 list in the US entirely (Wednesday is back in it?), looking at the numbers, it has performed extraordinarily well globally. The last numbers Netflix published just over a week ago show The Glory with 123.5 million hours viewed that week. And it was 124.4 million hours the week before that. It’s dwarfing English shows over the same period like You season 4 (64 million hours) and Shadow and Bone season 2 (50.4 million hours). The Korean revenge drama follows a young woman, Dong-Eun, who was bullied and badly scarred in high school by a group of friends. That friend … [Read more...] about ‘The Glory’ Is Netflix’s New Sleeper Korean Megahit You Need To Watch
Here’s An Incredible ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Stealth Playthrough Update Via An Elaborate New Mod
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin While it’s certainly possible to build out various stealth loadouts in Cyberpunk 2077, whether that’s silenced pistols or distanced hacking, it’s not exactly the most fleshed-out system in the game. You can essentially do almost entirely ghosted, no-kill playthroughs through stealth and takedowns and non-lethal ammo, but the system isn’t as rounded out as it could be. Enter the new Steathrunner mod from RMK . It’s an elaborate addition to the stealth system in the game that not only does a better job of tracking whether you’re completing objectives in stealth or ghosting completely unseen, but adds in new cyberware, weapons and even an entire perk tree dedicated to further stealth options. It’s pretty incredible. Watch the trailer below: There is an entirely new custom perk tree which includes upgrades like the ability to pickpocket enemies or the later tree Cyberninja skill that allows melee attacks to not … [Read more...] about Here’s An Incredible ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Stealth Playthrough Update Via An Elaborate New Mod
Does ‘Diablo 4’ Need To Buff Barbarian And Druid For Launch?
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Diablo 4 beta players got to experience all five launch classes thanks to a pair of beta weekends, the second of which is about to wrap up just a few hours after I’m writing this. Outside of some technical issues, I’d certainly say you could consider the Diablo 4 beta a success, which at least on the surface makes it seem like a worthy franchise sequel, and not about to stumble into any sort of Auction House-level mess at launch. I have, however, heard about some balancing complaints between the classes. While everyone seems to be enjoying the high DPS of Rogue and Sorcerer, and the skele-friends of Necromancer, there seems to be a general consensus that the two melee classes, Barbarian and Druid, are underpowered compared to the others which are more range-focused. It is true that in many situations, you can be fighting the exact same boss which may feel like cake on Rogue or Sorcerer and a nightmare with Barb or … [Read more...] about Does ‘Diablo 4’ Need To Buff Barbarian And Druid For Launch?

MLB The Show 23: The Complete Breakdown
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin MLB The Show 23 released via early access for pre-order customers on March 24. It releases for everyone else on Tuesday, March 28. After spending at least a dozen hours playing the game, here is an in-depth review of every major aspect of MLB The Show 23. Sights, Sound and Feel During the buildup for the release of MLB The Show 23, Sony San Diego didn’t dedicate any streams or social media posts to advancements in visuals. For the most part, the visual fidelity is on par with what we’ve come to expect from sports video games released in this era. That’s something that probably won’t ruffle the feathers of the vast majority of players, and it isn’t likely to be a major topic of discussion in most MLB The Show circles. A more active topic for discussion is gameplay changes. Users who didn’t get a chance to participate in the play test will immediately notice a change in fielding–specifically throwing. … [Read more...] about MLB The Show 23: The Complete Breakdown
Today’s Wordle #647 Hints, Clues And Answer For Tuesday, March 28th
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Well I have to say, yesterday’s Wordle was one of the most challenging words yet on the popular puzzle game . I’d say it’s probably the hardest word since parer, which had plenty of Wordlers stumped last year. I can pretty easily gauge the difficulty of any given Wordle based on how much traffic I get on my guides, and yesterday’s was easily the biggest I’ve had in 2023, and bigger than many since last summer when the game was much more popular. I guess more people need to play as wizards in D&D and get their fireball on! Today’s word isn’t quite as unique or challenging, but it’s still one that took me longer to solve, even though my guessing game really wasn’t that bad. Go figure! Okay, let’s take a look . . . . How To Solve Today’s Wordle The Hint: An ingredient which, along with sulfur, is necessary for a fireball spell. The Clue: There are more vowels than consonants in this word. The … [Read more...] about Today’s Wordle #647 Hints, Clues And Answer For Tuesday, March 28th
