After the trio of Katie Gavin, Josette Maskin and Naomi McPherson released their second album, Saves the World , in 2019, the band parted ways with RCA. The hearing, which featured Juul cofounder James Monsees and chief administration officer Ashley Gould, comes as part of a House Oversight Committee investigation into the company’s role in what the Food and Drug Administration has dubbed a youth vaping epidemic. A report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that the amount of high schoolers who used e-cigarettes jumped to 20.8% in 2018 from 11.7% the previous year. The panel requested last month that Juul turn over a wide-ranging set of internal communications related to its marketing and social media strategies.
