Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin By Nathan Resnick Sending out a press release is a great way to get significant attention for your company. While the majority of journalists use press releases as a source for news, standing out in today’s digital environment can be difficult. Some news outlets receive hundreds of press releases in a single day—so it shouldn’t be surprising that 70% of journalists spend less than a minute reading each one. You don’t have much time to make an impression and get that coveted press coverage for your brand. Russia slips into historic default as sanctions muddy next steps
- A + A (June 27): Russia defaulted on its external sovereign bonds for the first time in a century, the culmination of ever-tougher Western sanctions that shut down payment routes to overseas creditors. For months, Russia had found paths around the penalties imposed after the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine. But at the end of the day on Sunday, the grace period on about US$100 million of trapped interest payments due May 27 expired, a deadline considered an “Event of Default” if missed. The route to this point has been far from normal, as Russia has the resources to pay its bills — and tried to do so — but was blocked by the sanctions. Those restrictions also mean there’s huge uncertainty about what comes next, and about how investors can go about getting their money. “With Russia benefiting from the high price of its energy exports, it clearly has both the means and the desire to pay its foreign debt,” said Giles Coghlan, chief analyst at HYCM Group. It’s a … [Read more...] about Russia slips into historic default as sanctions muddy next steps

Opinion: The aftershocks of America’s abortion earthquake will be felt for decades
(CNN) Following the US Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, CNN Opinion asked a group of contributors to weigh in on the cultural, legal and political ramifications of this monumental legal opinion undoing nearly 50 years of federal abortion protection. The views expressed in these commentaries are those of the authors. SE Cupp: What politicians get wrong about the abortion debate I'm deeply worried for our country. Read More No matter where you stand on the issue -- I'm pro-life but do not support a ban on abortions -- this ruling represents a seismic shift in American life as most of us knew it. I'm 43, and Roe is older than I am. There are more people alive today who have never known an America without Roe than there are people who lived without it. Stripping away what many women have only known as a right for nearly 50 years, without putting anything in its place is dangerous. Criminalizing … [Read more...] about Opinion: The aftershocks of America’s abortion earthquake will be felt for decades

Outriders ‘Worldslayer’ Expansion Review: Horde Of Destruction
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Well, they really did it. In an effort to emulate pretty much every aspect of the Diablo series as much as possible, Outriders has packed almost all of its significant additions into a Lord of Destruction/Reaper of Souls style expansion for the game, which is out this week. It’s called Worldslayer , it costs $40, and you can boost your character instantly to the level to play it if you’ve fallen behind, but even veterans will find a long, long road of grinding ahead of them, with the way the expansion builds out the endgame. But while I did enjoy what I played, I did find myself in a familiar predicament by the end, where solo play felt exhausting and punishing, and getting really deep into the endgame will require friends who are still playing, or matchmaking in what has been an increasingly shrinking pool of players. But we’ll see if Worldslayer brings them back. Worldslayer is essentially split into two parts: … [Read more...] about Outriders ‘Worldslayer’ Expansion Review: Horde Of Destruction
Cyber Threats Beyond Earth: Securing In-Space Manufacturing
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Our global society is heavily dependent on space-based technologies. Most of us are aware that space positioning, weather and communications systems are critical to our transportation activities. I’m writing this article on a plane that is using GPS to route my flight safely around severe weather patterns that have been identified by satellites. If I finish this article inflight, I’ll upload it for publication at Forbes via a geosynchronous communications satellite. Still, many people would be surprised to learn that modern factories also depend on satellites . Manufacturing automation systems synchronize the operations of multiple robots on their production lines using the timing signals provided by GPS satellites . In fact, GPS is really a collection of 24 (plus spares) orbiting atomic clocks, each continually broadcasting time data. Your Uber is guided by tiny differences in the time signal emanating from four or more … [Read more...] about Cyber Threats Beyond Earth: Securing In-Space Manufacturing
