Crucially, however, we must ensure that the funds invested are going into the right place—and that’s where smart data comes in. Urban planners need details of the exact locations where cycling lanes should be added, redesigned, extended, or shortened. … [Read more...] about The pandemic created a biking explosion. Puerto Rico cell phone service is still out. Can Alphabet’s Project Loon fix it?
Alphabet, Google’s parent company, is hoping to help restore cell service and internet connectivity to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands through its high-flying Project Loon balloons. In the wake of hurricanes Irma and Maria, residents of the islands lack access to basic supplies like food and running water, and 83% of people still lack cell reception. This required shifting from being client-centric to being employee-first. Today, more than ever, leadership is an art in relationships. It requires honesty, empathy, integrity, and grace—traits not easy to cultivate (or typically celebrated) in the demanding, deadline-driven world of business. … [Read more...] about After a string of life setbacks, here’s how I learned to rethink happiness
