New ventures drive growth for LG Energy Solution

March 23, 2023 by koreajoongangdaily.joins.com

KooRoo’s battery swapping station [LG ENERGY SOLUTION] LG Energy Solution is pushing ahead with its new businesses and focusing on future growth with in-house ventures KooRoo and AVEL, the battery manufacturing unit of LG Group said. KooRoo, established last year, is seeking to commercialize its battery swapping stations (BSS), which increase the convenience for users of electric motorbikes by allowing them to swap out a used battery for a fully-charged one rather than having to spend time charging the original battery. The service addresses a lot of the issues raised by electric vehicle users, including the long charge time, relatively short distance that can be traveled and high maintenance costs. “If the electric motorbike battery ecosystem grows, it will help delivery services, be eco-friendly, quiet and safe," said Ahn Hong-duk, head of KooRoo. “We are set to initiate developing exclusive BSS battery packs and stations and plan to build up the electric motorcycle … [Read more...] about New ventures drive growth for LG Energy Solution

Barriers To Employment Fall With The Rise Of Out-Of-State Occupational License Recognition

March 21, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Income tax rate reduction and flattening, along with the expansion of school choice, are among the most consequential policy trends of the early 2020s. However, there is another policy trend emerging that, like income tax relief and greater educational choice, is making states more attractive to workers and employers. That trend is the push by policymakers to remove or mitigate the barriers to employment that state occupational licensing requirements have become. On Tuesday, March 21, Florida legislators will hold a hearing on Senate Bill 1364, legislation to recognize out-of-state occupational licenses held by new residents so that they can get to work and begin earning income in their new home state right away. If this reform, known as Universal License Recognition (ULR), is passed by legislators in Tallahassee and signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis (R) this spring, Florida would become state number 22 to enact ULR. … [Read more...] about Barriers To Employment Fall With The Rise Of Out-Of-State Occupational License Recognition

How to talk to your boss about working too much

December 13, 2022 by www.fastcompany.com

When the pandemic hit and we all experienced a wave of uncertainty about how companies and jobs would fare in the fallout, workers buckled down and got things done. For many, that meant working longer hours. Remote employees worked an average of 2.5 hours longer per day in the U.S. and UK during the pandemic, according to a survey by cybersecurity platform NordLayer. And a 2021 study published in Nature Human Behavior found that remote workers are staying connected to work 10% longer than pre-pandemic. And the fallout can be serious. Research from Eagle Hill Consulting, LLC found that nearly half of employees are burned out from their work. A 2021 World Health Organization and International Labor Organization study found that long work hours (55 hours per week or more) contributed to more than three-quarters of a million deaths in 2016. Overwork is taking a toll mentally, physically, and creatively, says Sarah Deane, cofounder and CEO of MEvolution, a business … [Read more...] about How to talk to your boss about working too much

Evergrande debt revamp plan fails to cheer investors, property stocks fall

March 23, 2023 by business.inquirer.net

The Evergrande Center of China Evergrande Group is seen in Shanghai, China Sept 24, 2021. REUTERS/Aly Song HONG KONG  -China Evergrande Group’s debt restructuring proposal, a test of investor sentiment toward the battered property sector, failed to impress because of its long repayment period and lack of enough sweeteners, creditors and analysts said. Evergrande is the world’s most indebted developer with about $300 billion in liabilities. Its debt restructuring, the country’s biggest such exercise, is aimed at saving it from a disorderly collapse. The developer has $22.7 billion of offshore debt, all of which is deemed to be in default. The plan provided two main options to its dollar bondholders to recoup their investments. Creditors can either swap all of their holdings into new notes with maturities of 10 to 12 years, or convert them into different combinations of new notes with tenors of five to nine years and equity-linked instruments. Bondholders of notes issued by … [Read more...] about Evergrande debt revamp plan fails to cheer investors, property stocks fall

March 22, 2023 by dailycaller.com

Bail assistance groups including the Northwest Community Bail Fund, Minnesota Freedom Fund and Bail Project recorded massive funding increases after George Floyd’s death, according to CNN. Multiple individuals bailed from prison with the organizations’ help were subsequently arrested for murder, the outlet reported. “The charitable bail funds, just by the nature of the enterprise, are going to be helping the riskier people,” Columbia University Associate Law Professor Kellen Funk told CNN. Nonprofit organizations dedicated to bailing criminal defendants out of jail received huge funding increases in 2020 following the death of George Floyd, but some of those they helped release allegedly committed murder afterward, according to CNN. Several bail groups got social media endorsements from famous figures like Vice President Kamala Harris, recording artist Justin Timberlake and actor Seth Rogen after Floyd was murdered by a Minneapolis police officer in May 2020 and protests … [Read more...] about Celebrity-Backed Bail Funds Freed People Who Allegedly Went On To Kill: REPORT

HART: Soros-Funded Manhattan District Attorney Predictably Weaponizes His Office Against Trump

March 22, 2023 by dailycaller.com

The right-wing “conspiracy theorists” have been saying that COVID originated in a lab in Wuhan, China and Anthony Fauci was involved.  They insist the arrests over January 6 were unjust, Hunter Biden’s laptop was not “Russian disinformation,” and the “Deep State” is out to get Trump. For those keeping score at home, conspiracy theorists are leading the media about 25 to 0. It seems to be common knowledge that the left-wing DA in Manhattan, Alvin Bragg, is going to try to arrest Donald Trump for some manipulated charges from seventeen years ago connected to his paying stripper Stormy Daniels money for an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) — which she broke. Wow, if you can’t trust a stripper/ho, whom can you trust? An NDA, as Tiger is finding out, is only good unless they can make more money trashing you. Stormy does not have a knee to stand on in this NDA case. So, with the NDA Trump made Stormy keep her mouth closed. Given this, her best case might be “restraint of trade.” … [Read more...] about HART: Soros-Funded Manhattan District Attorney Predictably Weaponizes His Office Against Trump

Boston Parents Enraged After Middle Schoolers Allegedly Given’Inappropriate’ Sex Survey

March 22, 2023 by dailycaller.com

A Boston school has found itself facing enraged parents, who said that the school distributed a survey to middle school children asking lewd sexual questions and gender identity. Eliot K-8 Innovation School allegedly asked children questions such as “Are you transgender?” and “Have you ever had sexual intercourse?” according to a survey copy obtained by The Washington Free Beacon. The Youth Risk Behavior Survey, administered by the CDC, is part of a district-wide survey, according to The Washington Free Beacon. The school emailed the parents, acknowledging that the survey might have raised concerns about “age appropriateness” of the questions. The school claimed that it shared the parents’ concerns with the Superintendents Office, Office of Teaching and Learning, and the Department of Health and Wellness. The school also stated in the email that it would create an opportunity for parents to share their concerns in a Zoom meeting. Tech Experts: Rigging The Presidential Election Would Be ‘Easy’

August 29, 2016 by dailycaller.com

Hacking November’s presidential voting machines to ensure a win for either Republican nominee Donald Trump or Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton would be “easy,” cybersecurity experts claimed in a report released Monday. America’s outdated voting systems are about as secure as a home computer, and are run by election officials and poll workers with little digital technology expertise, creating the perfect environment for hackers to rig the election, according to the report, “Hacking The Elections Is Easy!” from cybersecurity think tank Institute for Critical Infrastructure Technology (ICIT). “The United States e-voting system is so vulnerable that a small group of one or a few dedicated individuals could target a lynchpin district of a swing state, and sway the entire presidential election,” the ICIT report said. The vulnerability of the country’s 9,000 voting jurisdictions is “an epidemic in our democracy,” James Scott, ICIT senior fellow and co-author of the paper with ICIT … [Read more...] about Tech Experts: Rigging The Presidential Election Would Be ‘Easy’
