Flood Advisory Replaces Tornado Watch Issued for Southern Jersey
A tornado watch that was in effect Saturday for all of southern New Jersey has been cancelled. The watch that was in effect has been replaced by a flood advisory in Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties, the National Weather Service reports. The thunderstorms that passed through central and southern New Jersey Saturday evening have moved offshore, leaving behind lingering showers that will continue into Sunday morning, according to Storm Team 4. The National Weather Service issues a tornado watch when there’s a possibility of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in or near the area, according to its website. A tornado warning is issued when a tornado is “imminent.” Top Tri-State News Photos Pexels/CC Get the latest from NBC 4 New York anywhere, anytime Download the App Available for IOS and Android Follow NBC New YorkTwitter, Instagram, Facebook … [Read more...] about Flood Advisory Replaces Tornado Watch Issued for Southern Jersey
