Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Manchester United might be prioritising the double signing of FC Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong and free agent Christian Eriksen in the short term, they also have their sights on AFC Ajax’s Lisandro Martinez to bolster their weak defence. Erik Ten Hag appears to be undertaking a strategy of attempting to recruit players very familiar with him or know the ‘Ajax way’, as supported by his public pursuit of de Jong and Eriksen so early in the summer. Martinez, who represents Argentina internationally, is not short of suitors this summer with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal hot on the case to try and lure him to North Lonodn. It is said that Ajax will not be pushed over this summer in allowing their best assets to leave, especially to Ten Hag’s new club, and will request at least £40 million for the Argentinean defender. Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The truth is that taking the time to get educated about the opportunities available is a smart business decision—regardless of whether you want or are ready to make a move. Advisors often wonder if there’s a right time to embark upon the due diligence process. And the reality is that it’s important that they always stay aware and educated about the opportunities around them—particularly in an environment that’s evolved rapidly over the last several years. But to do a “deep dive” takes some time and effort on the advisor’s part and is generally left to those experiencing a gap between where they are now and where they want to be. And that gap helps determine the urgency around the next steps you might take. If the gap is big enough and important enough to justify the hassle of a move, then it makes sense to begin due diligence. You may decide that a more passive approach – what we call “armchair exploration” – is … [Read more...] about Financial Advisors: Is Now The ‘Right Time’ To Start Exploring Your Options?
The larger job market in India remains buoyant across sectors – even amid layoffs by a clutch of startups in recent months – and employees will generally continue to call the shots through FY23. “We see FY23 to remain an employees’ market with some amount of adjustments. Employees still have the bargaining power, opportunities and enjoy the benefit of demand,” said RP Yadav, chairman of Genius Consultants, a staffing and human resource company. While information technology and IT-enabled services will continue recruiting, e-commerce, logistics and export-oriented sectors including textiles and leather goods are doing well in terms of hiring. The consumer goods sector will increasingly do well, as will the retail and hospitality segment, according to staffing firms, HR experts and talent managers. The near-normal level of economic activity in retail and hospitality is indicative of a revival in these sectors after a prolonged phase of weakness due to the pandemic and offers a … [Read more...] about Amid startup layoffs, larger job market remains buoyant across sectors
INQUIRER.net stock images WASHINGTON — It’s often said that people who click right away share “chemistry.” This expression could be true in the literal sense, according to a new study published in the journal Science Advances on Friday, which finds people with similar body odors are more likely to hit it off as friends. “Nonhuman terrestrial mammals constantly sniff themselves and each other and, based on this, decide who is friend or foe,” wrote a group of researchers led by Inbal Ravreby at Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. Since people seek friends who are similar to themselves, the team hypothesized that humans may smell themselves and others to subconsciously estimate body odor similarity and judge their compatibility. To find out, they set about collecting samples from pairs of same-sex, nonromantic friends who described themselves as having clicked at first sight, that is to say “where a sense of friendship was formed before extensive biographical information … [Read more...] about Friends at first sniff: People smelling alike do hit it off

A woman, terrified, runs as these demonic figures grow to normal size and chase her through the apartment. Helpless and screaming, this woman hides in her room, pulls out a handgun, and puts an end to it all. Smoke fills her room as her still body lies in bed. Out of the darkness comes a monstrous homeless man. A garbage fire ignites the background as he stares into the camera. Then the woman returns, along with her friend. Lit by a faint white glow, they laugh and smile. And behind them, Los Angeles mysteriously looms. Then the whiteness washes away. Now a lone microphone rests on a theater stage.
