Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Even before the pandemic, the real estate industry was moving into the digital realm, with home listing websites, virtual home tours and electronic signature programs gaining popularity in recent years. In 2020, even more of the home buying and selling process went virtual, and it seems that certain "remote" real estate activities are here to stay. That's why it's essential for real estate leaders to embrace and adopt new technology—but this leap can be easier said than done. What happened Shares of LTC Properties ( NYSE:LTC ) slumped 12.3% in 2021, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence . The senior housing market's continued headwinds weighed on the real estate investment trust ( REIT ). So what LTC Properties experienced a significant decline in funds from operations (FFO) and funds available for distribution (FAD) in 2021. FFO was down nearly 21% to $68.8 million through the third quarter, while FAD declined almost 19% to $69.6 million. Because of that, the REIT paid out 100% of its FAD during the third quarter to support its 6.4%-yielding monthly dividend . Image source: Getty Images. The main issue is the pandemic's impact on the senior housing sector. Several of LTC Properties' tenants couldn't pay rent, which impacted the healthcare REIT 's rental income. While it deferred and abated some rent to assist its tenants, a couple declared bankruptcy. Their financial issues … [Read more...] about Why LTC Properties Stock Sank 12% in 2021
T he New York Yankees are Major League Baseball’s most valuable franchise, worth $5.25 billion by Forbes’ count last year. But the team’s owners haven’t stopped there: Yankee Global Enterprises also has stakes in reigning MLS champion New York City FC, the YES Network and Legends Hospitality—which works with sports and entertainment organizations and venues in areas like hospitality, partnerships, concessions and merchandise—and it has a small equity stake in the Professional Fighters League, an MMA promotion. The additional holdings push the total value of the company’s sports properties to $6.81 billion. (Full disclosure: I am co-host of the YES Network’s Forbes SportsMoney show.) The story is much the same at AMB Group, which owns both the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and MLS’s Atlanta United, as well as golf retailer PGA Tour Superstore. Monumental Sports & Entertainment’s portfolio includes the NBA’s Washington Wizards, the NHL’s Washington Capitals and the WNBA’s Washington … [Read more...] about The World’s Most Valuable Sports Empires 2022

Investors and analysts have tried to call the bottom in the housing market for years. Instead of trying to guess when home prices might stop falling, some investors have turned elsewhere to look for gains -- and they're finding them in the red-hot market for residential rental properties. Going with the flow Just five years ago, the key to success in real estate investing was simple: Buy just about any residential property, wait anywhere from a month to a year, and then sell it at a huge profit. After all, since the turn of the millennium, similar investors had made boatloads of money flipping houses , and investors were seduced by the idea that even during past real estate busts, overall housing prices hadn't actually fallen in price substantially. Of course, we all know the aftermath of the housing bust, as that long-held real estate wisdom fell prey to harsh reality. Millions of homeowners have lost their homes , and millions more are underwater on their mortgages. … [Read more...] about This Housing Market Is On Fire!

Looking at the growth of the NFT market overall, Fool.com contributor Chris MacDonald and The Motley Fool's Eric Bleeker tackle the discussion of whether the NFT market could surpass Bitcoin ( CRYPTO:BTC ) in terms of market capitalization soon. This discussion took place on the Jan. 5 episode of "The Crypto Show" on Backstage Pass. Eric Bleeker: A crypto prediction from Kevin O'Leary who we have had on Backstage Pass before talking about his crypto initiatives such as WonderFi ( OTC:WOND.F ) Kevin O'Leary made the prediction that he believes NFTs will become bigger than Bitcoin. You see the headline there? What does he have in his prediction? He says, NFTs can prove ownership of real-world assets such as designer watches or cars, which once again takes us back to this real-world digital worlds synthesis that we're increasingly seeing more of in crypto ideas. I put an example down here because I figured people say, how does that work? I myself say, … [Read more...] about Could the NFT Market Become Bigger Than Bitcoin?
Newly-listed housing developer Haus Talk Inc. (HTI) reported a triple-digit annual increase in revenues and net income in the first nine months of 2021, citing robust demand for its housing products despite the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. HTI recorded P173.99 million in revenue in the first three quarters, reflecting a 164 percent growth from the previous year, HTI said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Friday. This resulted in a 107-percent growth in net income for the period, the company said, without disclosing the actual figure. The substantial rise in revenue was attributed mainly to its new projects in Antipolo—East View Residence Premiere and in San Pedro Laguna—South View Homes Calendola, which comprised of 53 percent of the total sales that supported revenue growth. The remaining 47 percent came from the sales of units in HTI’s existing projects. Furthermore, HTI—which caters to working class Filipinos—was able to secure licenses to sell new projects, … [Read more...] about Haus Talk sales, earnings surge on strong demand
