Grand Jury Investigating Trump Expected To Reconvene

March 27, 2023 by dailycaller.com

The New York grand jury investigating whether former President Donald Trump should be indicted for allegedly making an illegal hush money payment to pornographic actress Stormy Daniels is reportedly expected to reconvene Monday. The grand jury last met Tuesday — the day Trump claimed he would be arrested — and did not deliberate the case on Wednesday and Thursday as expected. The 23 jurors will likely reconvene Monday, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter. A majority vote from the jury is required for Trump to be indicted. The potential charges stem from Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen paying Daniels $130,000 before the 2016 election to keep her from speaking about an alleged affair with Trump. In 2018, Cohen pleaded guilty to violating federal campaign finance laws when making the payment. Pairing Wine And Food At Oriole, A Michelin Two-Star In Chicago

March 27, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Creating the ideal pairing of wine and food is something that many of us struggle with, and would love to know more about how to make this task a bit more simple. So where to turn to for guidance? How about the wine director at Oriole, a Michelin two-star restaurant in Chicago? Her name is Emily Rosenfeld, and I sat down recently with her to learn her thoughts about what makes for a great wine and food pairing, both specifically with the food at Oriole where she selects all the wines, but also in general, regarding more common dishes consumers enjoy at home. Originally from Indianapolis, Rosenfeld worked in the restaurant industry there for several years. Always looking to learn more, she would make the short trip to Chicago often to discover top restaurants and try new wines. Eventually realizing that there would be a greater selection of prized wines from around the world in Chicago compared to her hometown, she moved … [Read more...] about Pairing Wine And Food At Oriole, A Michelin Two-Star In Chicago

Bomb Threat Called Into NYC Court Hosting Trump Trial

March 21, 2023 by dailycaller.com

A lower Manhattan court hosting a civil case targeting former President Donald Trump received a false bomb threat on Tuesday, temporarily shutting down proceedings. The New York Police Department (NYPD) is currently investigating the threat, called in against the courthouse at 60 Centre Street. The courthouse is hosting New York state Attorney General Letitia James’ civil case alleging that Trump inflated the value of his real estate company’s assets. Other unfounded bomb threats were made against the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, NYPD headquarters, and the Manhattan Criminal Court, the New York Daily News reported . An NYPD spokesman confirmed to the Daily Caller that investigations into the threats are ongoing, and declined to provide an update. At least two bomb threats were made against Manhattan court buildings Tuesday as the NYPD ratchets up security in preparation for former President Trump’s possible indictment, the Daily News has learned. … [Read more...] about Bomb Threat Called Into NYC Court Hosting Trump Trial

March 27, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin It’s rare to find a home once owned by one of the world’s most famous female artists and a billionaire, but this adobe-style estate in Santa Fe, New Mexico is one of them. This estate was once owned—separately—by famed artist Georgia O’Keeffe in the 1980s and late Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Paul Allen in 2000 until his death in 2018. Originally listed for $22.6 million in 2021 and a reduced price of $17.5 million in 2022, the stunning estate is now seeking $15 million. This 20-acre property has Southwestern-style charm and multiple structures across the grounds. There is a three-story main house built in the 1930s that has a Spanish Pueblo Revival style with adobe walls made from earth-tone stucco and wood beams. Here, there are six bedrooms, a grand formal living and dining room, library, game room, chef’s kitchen, and solarium, with a total of 9,200 square feet. This main residence also has kiva … [Read more...] about The Former Santa Fe, New Mexico Estate, Once Owned By Georgia O’Keeffe And Paul Allen, Lists For $15 Million

‘Succession’ Season 4, Episode 1 Review: Rummage Sale

March 27, 2023 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Succession is back for its fourth and final season and that makes me both tremendously happy and a little bit sad. Happy to get one more delicious season of family drama, backstabbing and plotting that makes House Of The Dragon almost look tame by comparison; sad that it’s almost over, of course. I could handle a couple more seasons of Succession. In any case, there’s blood in the water. Logan Roy is making his last gambit and the sharks are circling. Who will end up sitting on the Iron Waystar RoyCo Throne? Who will bend the knee? Let’s talk about it. The Revenge Of The Kids When we left off at the end of Season 3, Logan Roy (Brian Cox) had just made a surprise play. After meeting with GoJo creator Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgard) the Roy patriarch decided that now was the time to sell rather than acquire. Matsson would take over both companies—instead of one of Roy’s idiot children—and Logan would walk away … [Read more...] about ‘Succession’ Season 4, Episode 1 Review: Rummage Sale

December 31, 2011 by newsinfo.inquirer.net

MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office plans to widen the reach of its operations in 2012 by setting up  offices in Mindanao and other places where poor residents could use the financial assistance the agency provides for citizens in need. Aside from increasing its projected revenue for the coming year to allow more people to benefit from its charity projects, PCSO general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II said the agency wants to be closer to intended beneficiaries by opening up “more provincial district offices and sub-offices, especially in Mindanao.” “PCSO will continue to serve the Filipino people’s medical and health-related concerns, especially during times of calamities,” he said in a statement. “In order to do this more effectively, we shall be expanding PCSO’s revenues from games and we ask the public’s support for this.” The agency quickly disbursed calamity assistance to the people of Northern Mindanao who were ravaged by Tropical Storm Sendong in … [Read more...] about PCSO to expand charity operations

Fifty-one-year-old Jeepney Driver Juanito Alcasid, who drives daily from morning until afternoon from Sangandaan to Divisoria (via Abad Santos) route, has been declared the grand winner of the recently concluded Cleanfuel’s Paskong Panalo e-Raffle Promo. The former office driver, who has worked as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in the Middle East for 15 years, was clueless when his name was luckily picked as the grand winner of the Paskong Panalo ng Cleanfuel. Alcasid, who went to his province in early January, realized that the promo had ended and his chance of winning might not be on his side. Little did he know that Cleanfuel was already looking for his whereabouts when his name was announced as the grand winner. “Napakaswerte ko po noong ako ay nanalo dahil lagpas one month po akong nasa province at nagbago na po ako ng mobile number.
