A Fast, New Rangefinder For The Course
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin I’ve never been able to hold my hands steady. No, it’s not from too much caffeine – well, not usually. But as a result, I can rarely use a handheld distance rangefinder out on the course. Which is a shame, because I walk many of my rounds. So I don’t often have a cart GPS screen to cross-reference yardage on. Yes, I could use a GPS watch but literally every model I’ve tried has resulted in a skin rash flare-up underneath the band. But maybe there’s a new product to help. Precision Pro Golf’s new NX10 Slope rangefinder locks in distances super quickly and with accuracy. No it doesn’t have image stabilization like some other models I’ve tried, but this has speed on its side. Billed as the market’s first fully customizable rangefinder with interchangeable skins, it comes out of the box essentially as an all-white unit. But you can buy up to 30-some different custom skins separately. The largest underside panel slides off, so … [Read more...] about A Fast, New Rangefinder For The Course
How A TikTok Ban Would Deal A Blow To Creators, Businesses And The American Economy
A U.S. ban on the world’s most popular social media app would affect far more American businesses and people than just the 150 million using the platform here. C asey Evertsen drove down a suburban Utah street lined with trash bins, speaking into his phone’s camera as he gave a tour of the brightly-colored truck he uses for his garbage can-cleaning business. “If you like seeing dirty stuff get cleaned and watching how cool stuff works, follow along,” he said in the video shared on TikTok. “Let’s clean some bins!” Evertsen’s service, Bin Blasters , had for a whole year struggled to get traction through Facebook and Instagram. So taking a cue from his teenage daughter, he decided to try promoting it on TikTok instead. On his eighth video, just one month in, Evertsen “blew up.” "I went out and just started cleaning bins that day, started on our route, and I look at my phone like an hour later, and there's 17,000 views,” he recalled. “Then it just got in the millions.” … [Read more...] about How A TikTok Ban Would Deal A Blow To Creators, Businesses And The American Economy

Strategies For Growth In 2023
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin By Duane Tursi, CEO, Ascension Group International . How can business leaders determine whether a particular growth strategy is applicable to a business’s specific situation? First and foremost, timing is everything. It might feel like it’s always the right moment to take your company to the next level, but knowing when to expand is just as critical as knowing where to start. POV: Tomorrow’s founders can’t code—and that’s OK
A monk, a composer, and an industrial designer walk into a bar. No, I’m not making a joke. I’m simply imagining a hypothetical scenario where the cofounders of Headspace, Pandora, and Airbnb decide to meet up for drinks. You may think these figures represent a lonely cohort within tech entrepreneurship. We’re often confronted with the tired (and, as the data shows, largely inaccurate) stereotype of the algorithm-crunching, code-wrangling, Patagonia-wearing startup founder. These characters —who undeniably exist, but are more marginal than perhaps realized—effortlessly straddle the worlds of engineering and business. They’re the full package. Admittedly, these characters also tend to be the most visible. Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Mark Andreessen all have storied engineering careers—and often complex personal and professional lives that inevitably work their way into popular culture. But when we examine the data, we see a different picture. Rather than … [Read more...] about POV: Tomorrow’s founders can’t code—and that’s OK

Take back your time in 2023 with these simple planning strategies
One resource we can’t replenish is time. So, it’s no wonder that people are so interested in how to save time or get more done in less of it. When we can get more done during the hours we have, we can use that “saved” time for something more meaningful. Some people take their time-saving efforts to an extreme, even going so far as to wear the same thing every day , saving time and possibly alleviating decision fatigue . And while you may not relish the thought of wearing the same suit or hoodie every day, there are some other ways you can take back your most precious resource and devote it—and its accompanying brain power—to something better. George Condo: Painting In Search Of Lost Time
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Geroge Condo’s new exhibition, ‘People Are Strange,’ the opening installation at Hauser and Wirth’s second Los Angeles location (in West Hollywood in what was a former car showroom), is a gorgeous, exuberant show, an exciting and inspiring post-pandemic “welcome back.” The exhibition, on view through April 22, 2023, features fourteen large scale canvases and one gold-plated sculpture. Of the canvases, nine are portraits, one is a large group portrait, and the others are abstractions all painted in the last year. The space is an unusual column-free trapezoidal shape affording a variety of wall spaces in which to have unobstructed views of the large canvases. These new works continue Condo’s exploration of what he has at times called “Psychological Cubism” and reflect his absorption of Picasso’s vernacular to construct and deconstruct portraits that reflect not only different emotional states but also the passage of time. … [Read more...] about George Condo: Painting In Search Of Lost Time
