Biden Admin Knew The Baby Formula Shortage Was Coming In February
The Biden administration knew about the baby formula shortage as early as February, the director of the National Economic Council, Brian Deese, told CNN’s “New Day” on Friday morning. Deese said the administration is working around the clock to tackle the issue from every angle possible, noting the administration is trying to give retailers “more flexibility on the types of formulas that they can sell.” Deese did not provide an estimate of how long the administration anticipates the shortage will last, but urged families to call their healthcare provider if they need help. Host Kaitlan Collins then asked Deese what his response to Republican criticism that the administration didn’t act fast enough is. “The administration has been on this from the get-go. A lot of this emanated from a plant in Michigan that was producing formula that didn’t meet safety standards,” Deese said. Collins then asked when the administration first became aware of the shortage. “As a parent, and … [Read more...] about Biden Admin Knew The Baby Formula Shortage Was Coming In February

As Musk buyout looms, Twitter searches for its soul
SAN FRANCISCO: A toxic cesspool. A lifeline. A finger on the world’s pulse. Twitter is all these things and more to its over 229 million users around the world – politicians, journalists, activists, celebrities, weirdos and normies, cat and dog lovers and just about anyone else with an Internet connection. For Elon Musk, its ultimate troll and perhaps most prolific user whose buyout of the company is on increasingly shaky ground, Twitter is a “de facto town square” in dire need of a libertarian makeover. Whether and how the takeover will happen, at this stage in the game, is anyone’s guess. On May 13, Musk announced that the deal is “on hold”, then tweeted that he was still “committed” to it. On Tuesday, the billionaire Tesla CEO said he’d reverse the platform’s ban of former US President Donald Trump if his purchase goes through but also voiced support for a new European Union law aimed at protecting social media users from harmful content. Twitter’s current CEO, meanwhile, fired … [Read more...] about As Musk buyout looms, Twitter searches for its soul

Moscow's ambassador to the United States warned against closer cooperation with Ukraine, saying situation in the region was "extremely dangerous", Tass news agency reported. Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin ABLE (Achieving Better Life Experience) accounts have been around since 2014, but if you are today years old when you are learning about them don't be embarrassed. SHEFFIELD: Abortion Will Not Be The Decisive Issue In The Midterms
Editor’s note: We endeavor to bring you the top voices on current events representing a range of perspectives. Below is a column arguing that abortion will not be a decisive issue in the 2022 midterms. You can find a counterpoint here , where National Right to Life’s Carol Tobias argues that abortion will be a decisive issue in the midterms. Democrats are electorally giddy about the U.S. Supreme Court likely overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. Sure liberals don’t like the policy prospect, but now they believe at least their slumping November prospects have snapped back into high gear. But they’re wrong. While abortion may be an important issue in the midterms for some voters, economic issues like gas prices and inflation are going to be the decisive factors. That’s because the abortion-motivated voters were already planning to come out for Democrats. Just 37% of Americans approve of Biden’s handling of the economy, according to the RealClearPolitics average … [Read more...] about SHEFFIELD: Abortion Will Not Be The Decisive Issue In The Midterms

Unusually High Winds Wreaking Havoc Across The Country
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin In a year of unusual weather activity, this spring is also bringing us some surprises. While the spring is typically a breezy season, this year has been particularly windy across much of the U.S., creating issues for businesses and the public alike. The extreme wind is an inconvenience and annoying, but it has also fueled wildfires, disrupted the supply chain, and threatened our infrastructure and public safety. These persistent and gusty spring winds are a result of the jet stream, which typically flows west to east across North America, being pinned in by a couple of air masses, one in the western U.S. and the other in the Midwest, locking these primarily windy and dry conditions in place for months over portions of the country. Most notably, is the devasting wildfire situation in New Mexico. The Calf Canyon and Hermits Peak fire are the largest active wildfires right now consuming more than 203,000 acres. The recent … [Read more...] about Unusually High Winds Wreaking Havoc Across The Country
