Reports: FBI Probing If N.Y. Post’s Hunter Biden Email Dump Was Part Of Foreign Influence Campaign

October 16, 2020 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Topline Federal investigators are looking into whether a set of unverified emails purported to be to and from Joe Biden’s son Hunter that were published in a New York Post article this week were part of a foreign disinformation campaign, the Associated Press and NBC News reported. Key Facts The Post published the emails Wednesday in a story that claimed they were evidence of influence-peddling by the Bidens in Ukraine; critics raised questions about the paper’s claim that the story was based on files discovered by a Delaware computer repairman, who later sent them to President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now examining whether the files were actually part of a foreign intelligence operation, the AP and NBC reported, citing unnamed sources. The Post ’s story stated that a laptop containing the emails was seized by the FBI, though the paper … [Read more...] about Reports: FBI Probing If N.Y. Why you need to take right-wing comedy seriously

May 10, 2022 by www.fastcompany.com

It was one of the more spectacular TV flops of the 21st century. Late in the second term of President George W. Bush, in 2007, Fox News decided that it had the right-wing alternative to Comedy Central’s popular and influential The Daily Show with Jon Stewart . The 1/2 Hour News Hour would puncture liberal pieties and media bias in the fashion that Stewart and his cast of fake correspondents fired barbs at conservatives and right-wing media like Fox News. The show tanked—hard—more or less after the pilot aired in February 2007. And with its failure, modern progressives (and future leftists) had all the evidence they needed: Conservatives weren’t funny. advertisement advertisement For the last 15 years, that take—frequently informed by one failed late-night show—has stuck among anyone who isn’t a conservative. But all the while, right wingers were making comedy—and succeeding. Some of it flew under the radar in subterranean clubs and YouTube channels, … [Read more...] about Why you need to take right-wing comedy seriously

Ola Electric gets takedown notice from customer after making telemetry data public

April 27, 2022 by www.moneycontrol.com

An Ola electric scooter. A tussle between Ola Electric and a customer who had an accident while riding the company’s electric scooter has escalated into allegations of breach of privacy and integrity of data. The customer has sent a takedown notice to Ola Electric for allegedly violating privacy laws by publishing the scooter’s telemetry data on social media. The notice is in addition to claims by the customer about the vehicle’s allegedly faulty brakes and has drawn more flak for Ola, which is grappling with the issue of a vehicle catching fire and has recalled over 1,400 electric scooters to conduct 'diagnostic and health check'. The latest controversy dates back to March 26, when lawyer Reetam Singh was riding his father’s brand new Ola S1 Pro late at night on the Khanapara Highway in Guwahati, Assam. He claimed that he was riding at about 60 kmph when he spotted a speed-breaker. He alleged that when he applied the brakes, the scooter’s speed increased and he lost … [Read more...] about Ola Electric gets takedown notice from customer after making telemetry data public

MacKenzie Scott, Michael Bloomberg Among The Biggest Billionaire Donors To Abortion-Rights Groups “T hough the nation’s wealthiest philanthropists have been giving to reproductive rights groups for decades, the cause constitutes a relatively small portion of overall philanthropic giving,” reports Rachel Sandler: According to the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy, $1.7 billion went to reproductive rights nonprofits from 2015 to 2019. That’s 2.2% of the $76 billion from foundations during that time period. Even less money, $361 million, was earmarked specifically for abortion rights and services, as opposed to other forms of reproductive healthcare. May 9, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin There exists a customer relationship management application called Rinsed . It’s aptly named. Rinsed is a CRM for car wash operators. Wait…a CRM for car washes? May 15, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Flewber is the latest private jet booking app to proclaim itself the category's Uber or Expedia, boasting it will disrupt the market. May 15, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin The Situation Looks Scary Right now the job market doesn’t feel like it was a month ago. Inflation is spiraling out of control, the cost of everything is exorbitant, talks of a recession, stagflation, and worries about being dragged into a war with Russia. These and other factors have scared investors, and the stock and cryptocurrency markets have plummeted, wiping out trillions of dollars. With so much uncertainty, it's reasonable for executives and human resource professionals to put the breaks on hiring, and start considering layoffs . We’ve already seen an array of tech companies—whose stock prices were crushed—enact downsizings. If the overall mood, economy and financial markets don’t turn around, there will likely be further rounds of terminations, and hiring freezes put into place. Here are the big waving red flags that you need to watch out for to determine if you need to update your resume and start … [Read more...] about Red Flags Signaling You May Be Selected For A Layoff
