Mastercard has started testing a new digital service that has the potential to verify a person’s identity immediately, safely and securely in both the digital and the physical world.The initial in-market pilot will take place in Australia through two separate efforts with Australia Post and Deakin University.“Our increasingly digital life – the way we transact and interact – has challenged our traditional notions of identity, trust and privacy. The Andhra Pradesh cabinet on December 11 approved a draft bill that proposes death penalty for rape convicts and mandates disposal of cases of atrocities against women within 21 days.The move comes barely a fortnight after a 27-year-old vet was gang raped, murdered and her body burnt by the culprits.Under the proposed bill, death penalty has been prescribed for rape. Where cognizable evidence is established in such cases, the amended law prescribes completion of investigation in seven days and court trial in subsequent 14 days so as to award punishment within 21 days.The existing law permits trial in such cases in four months.Close The Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, also approved the draft 'AP Special Court for Specified Offences Against Women and Children Act, 2019.'
