The Philadelphia Eagles will get the rematch they crave this Sunday when they head back New Orleans to face the top-seeded Saints in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs. After a 48-7 demolition in November, the odds are stacked against the red-hot Eagles—but not according to the most dangerous man in television. In an appearance on the NFL Network's "Good Morning Football," Bryan Cranston donned an Eagles jacket and did his best Walter White to prove that in "Breaking Bad" terms, Nick Foles is his equal. The Eagles aren't the hunted. They're the hunters. Cranston is from California, so his support for the Eagles can only be attributed to the force that is Nick Foles. As always, the Eagles released a hype video of their own for Sunday's game. While last week's video featured Malcolm Jenkins and harped on the team's doubters, this week's video is more of a social media roundup of everyone out there who can no longer deny Philadelphia's magic. Nick Foles and Drew … [Read more...] about Eagles-Saints hype videos bring in Bryan Cranston for ‘Breaking Bad’ monologue
Malcolm Jenkins is a two-time Super Bowl champion and veteran NFL safety. Each week this season he'll sit down with PhillyVoice's Joe Santoliquito to bring you Safety Blitz.Malcolm Jenkins leaned in to hear. The Eagles’ veteran safety and one of the leadership cornerstones of this team the last five years then smiled at what was relayed to him.New Orleans Saints’ coach Sean Payton, during his media session with the Philadelphia media on Wednesday, mentioned that letting Jenkins go in 2014 as a free agent was not a wise decision by he and the Saints organization. “He’s a fantastic, fantastic player and just as good of a person,” Payton said about Jenkins. “I’ve said this, and I just said this recently, but probably one of the bigger mistakes we’ve made. And I think you’ve got to be able to look at him and say ‘How did that happen?’ Letting him out of the building certainly wasn’t a smart decision.” What … [Read more...] about Safety Blitz with Malcolm Jenkins: This Eagles team is different than last time we played Saints
With the Philadelphia Eagles heading into the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, we took a look yesterday at how this team compares with the 2017-18 team that won it all, position by position, on offense. Today, we'll look at the defense. Defensive end: Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett, Chris Long, and Vinny Curry vs. Brandon Graham, Michael Bennett, and Chris Long Graham was a more disruptive player last year than he has been this year, so we'll give "last year Brandon Graham" the edge. Also, the Eagles signed Bennett to replace Curry, and although Bennett has been better, I would still take the combo of Barnett and Curry over Bennett, for depth and rotational freshness purposes. Advantage: Last year. Defensive tackle: Fletcher Cox, Timmy Jernigan, Beau Allen, and Destiny Vaeao vs. Fletcher Cox, Timmy Jernigan, Haloti Ngata, and Treyvon Hester Cox had his best season as a pro this year, but I'll take "Last year Jernigan" and Allen over "this year Jernigan" and Ngata all … [Read more...] about Comparing this year’s Eagles playoff team with the Super Bowl team: Defense edition

In our Eagles chat this week, there were a lot of questions that we could not get to in time or other questions we did answer but could use more color. And so, let's do a mailbag post to answer some of the overflow. Question from Cornelious Ingraham: I believe you said that if Golden Tate made a play to win a playoff game, that would make it a good trade. Is it now a good trade? I mean, he made a play he should make. He accidentally ran a nice route, got open against single coverage, and made the catch. On the day, he had 5 catches on 8 targets for 46 yards and that TD. I wouldn’t say he won them the game by any stretch. He made a play, like a boatload of others did during that game, only his happened in a crucial moment. He certainly deserves credit for making that play, and really, it’s not his fault that the trade looked as bad as it did for as long as it did. But I’m not there yet. I still think that was a bad use of resources and the return on investment … [Read more...] about Mailbag: Is the Eagles’ decision to trade for Golden Tate good yet?
