Did Trump Just Signal He’s Returning To Twitter?
Former President Donald Trump might have signaled his plan to return to Twitter if the company’s ban against him is lifted in a new federal securities filing. The SEC filing from Digital World Acquisition Corp., a company in charge of taking the president’s own social media startup public, said Trump is “generally obligated” to make posts on his app Truth Social, which launched in February. He cannot make the same post on any other social media platform for at least six hours, but can post on any site he has access to following that period, according to the filing. However, there is an exception for “a personal account related to political messaging, political fundraising or get-out-the-vote efforts.” Trump would be restricted from making Twitter posts related to societal or business matters, but would still be able to use his account as a vehicle for a potential 2024 presidential campaign, which he has openly teased , according to Axios. Jeff Bezos hits out at Joe Biden again: ‘Misdirection doesn’t help the country’
Jeff Bezos said US President Joe Biden's plans for larger spending were largely thwarted by Senator Joe Manchin. Jeff Bezos has criticised US President Joe Biden's take on inflation again. The Amazon founder said that the administration tried hard to inject more stimulus into an already inflationary economy. "Inflation is a regressive tax that most hurts the least affluent. Misdirection doesn’t help the country," Bezos tweeted. He was reacting to a tweet by an NGO which appeared to disagree with Biden's claims that this year, the government is on track to cut the deficit by $1.5 trillion – the biggest one-year decline ever. Joe Biden also claimed that under his predecessor Donald Trump, the deficit increased every year. The Twitter user Neoliberal then pointed out, "The deficit is decreasing because we’re not doing pandemic aid anymore, and federal receipts are up because of inflation. Congress, or the Biden administration, didn’t do anything to lower the deficit." … [Read more...] about Jeff Bezos hits out at Joe Biden again: ‘Misdirection doesn’t help the country’

Pelosi Calls The Supreme Court ‘Dangerous To The Freedoms Of Our Country’
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi had harsh words for the Supreme Court, Sunday, telling CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of The Union” that Trump-appointed justices had made the judiciary “dangerous” to freedom. “Who would have ever suspected that a creature like Donald Trump would become president of the United States, waving a list of judges that he would appoint, therefore, getting the support of the far-right, and appointing those anti-freedom justices to the court?” Pelosi exclaimed after Bash asked her why Democrats hadn’t anticipated an eventual overturn of Roe v. Wade. “Let’s not take our eye off the ball. The ball is this court, which is dangerous to the freedoms of our country,” Pelosi added, further suggesting that the court would also rule against marriage equality in the future. WATCH: Her words come after protestors have descended upon the homes of Trump-appointed justices, protesting the possible overturn of the 49-year-old Roe v. Wade decision. … [Read more...] about Pelosi Calls The Supreme Court ‘Dangerous To The Freedoms Of Our Country’
How The TicTok Controversy Could Inflame The Chinese Trade War And U.S. LNG Markets
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Donald Trump’s battle against China has taken on a new dimension. The target is ByteDance, which is the parent of the social app TikTok and the one used mostly by teenagers who post short video clips. It’s the latest iteration of the trade dispute between the two countries and one that got started in early 2018 with tariffs on Chinese solar panel makers. But the fight has escalated to the point where the countries’ 40-year friendship has deteriorated. Just this week, the World Trade Organization said that U.S. tariffs imposed on China have violated global trading rules. Specifically, the three-member panel said that the duties assessed were unfair and disproportionate. The Trump administration will no doubt appeal the decision — a move that would likely become moot if Joe Biden is elected U.S. president. Trade wars don’t work. For every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction. Businesses will often pass those … [Read more...] about How The TicTok Controversy Could Inflame The Chinese Trade War And U.S. LNG Markets
Biden’s visit to racist massacre site will highlight US divisions
US President Joe Biden has promised to unite Americans amid a rise in extremism WASHINGTON - When President Joe Biden visits the site of a racist massacre in upstate New York on Tuesday, he'll confront not only the shocking deaths of 10 Black people but a growing sense that extremism is pulling at the fabric of US society. On one level, the trip by Biden and his wife Jill Biden to Buffalo will be a grimly routine tradition for presidents who for decades have railed against an unstoppable parade of mass shootings. Like all his predecessors to varying degrees, Biden has promised to address gun control, or rather the lack of gun control. Like them, he has made barely a dent. Hastily scheduled ahead of Biden's departure Thursday for a major diplomatic trip to South Korea and Japan, the Buffalo visit will be a chance to "try to bring some comfort to the community," White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. However, what marks out Saturday's horror, in which a white man … [Read more...] about Biden’s visit to racist massacre site will highlight US divisions

Imports though have been falling, yet probably not as much as some energy security advocates … [Read more...] about The Good News About High U.S. Oil Imports
U.S. could ratify Finnish NATO membership before August, Senate Republican leader says
HELSINKI (Reuters) -The U.S. Congress will seek to ratify Finland's application to join the Western military alliance NATO before going on holiday in August, U.S. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said in Helsinki after meeting with Finland's President Sauli Niinisto. Canada, NATO's other North American ally, also promised a quick ratification. "Certainly we hope to achieve it before the August recess when Congress typically goes out of session," McConnell told reporters on Monday. Niinisto confirmed on Sunday that Finland would apply for NATO membership, in a historic policy shift prompted by Russia's Feb. 24 invasion of Ukraine. Sweden is also planning to join. McConnell said there was broad bipartisan support among U.S. lawmakers for Finnish membership. "With regard to the size of the vote, it will be very significant. Not unanimous, but very significant," he said. McConnell stressed the Republican Party's commitment to continued U.S. participation in the … [Read more...] about U.S. could ratify Finnish NATO membership before August, Senate Republican leader says
