The pandemic has accelerated this adoption even further, as evidenced by the increased popularity of neobanks and alternative financial services aiming to enhance the digital banking experience. According to a report by Polaris Market Research , the global open banking market size was valued at $16.14 billion in 2021 and is projected to reach $128.12 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 26.8% during the forecasted period. Understanding The Importance Of Web Accessibility
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Lesa Seibert, CEO & cofounder, Mightily . Website accessibility is becoming increasingly important in 2023. It is crucial for websites to be accessible to all users, including those with disabilities of all kinds. It allows them access to the same information and services that are available to everyone and includes things like news articles, online shopping, online banking, government services and more. By making websites accessible, we are ensuring that everyone has equal access to online content. One of the main reasons for the importance of website accessibility is the growing number of people with disabilities. According to the World Health Organization and the CDC, 16% of the world's population, and 26% of the U.S. population, have a disability. That's over 1 billion people worldwide and around 86 million people in the U.S. who may be unable to access websites that are not designed with accessibility … [Read more...] about Understanding The Importance Of Web Accessibility
ANTHONY: Digital Money For We The People
Money is exchangeable stored value . Money must not be an instrument of government tyranny. Our store of money must be an investment that yields people the best-possible returns. Yet, money production has been monopolized by governments everywhere. But even so, money is just another product. Under government monopolies, innovation to satisfy the customers for money products has stagnated, and the quality of money products has just kept getting worse . Lately, digital government money gets attention from all the usual suspects. Progressive governments want their crony-socialist banks to expand government power over the people. Digital government money threatens to be a key tool to further deprive persons of secure property, liberty to move and work and buy, and lifesaving health treatments. Fortunately, though, in the USA, government monopolization of money is unconstitutional. The Constitution merely authorizes the national government to produce … [Read more...] about ANTHONY: Digital Money For We The People
The IMF’s Asia Forecast Misses A Lot
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin A bright picture of 2023 growth in Asia has just emerged from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Responding to a surge in Chinese consumer spending now that Covid restrictions have lifted, the analysts at the Fund have revised up their real growth expectations for China and emerging Asia generally. This enthusiasm nonetheless seems wholly unwarranted. Though there can be little doubt that China’s reopening will act as a spur to growth there and elsewhere in Asia, this forecast seems to dismiss the ill effects of inflation and fails entirely to consider the drag on Chinese and Asian exports from tightening monetary policies in the west. The IMF’s figures are striking. China has received the most dramatic upgrade. Whereas last October, the Fund looked for 4.4% real growth in 2023, it now expects an expansion of 5.2%. The revisions are more modest for the rest of emerging Asia but across the board the expected growth can … [Read more...] about The IMF’s Asia Forecast Misses A Lot
SVB Is A Story Of Digital Herds In Need Of A Shepherd
Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin I never thought I would be a part of the fastest bank run in history. On a late Thursday evening earlier this month, I received a text message saying that Silicon Valley Bank – our company’s bank – was on the brink of collapse. I read the message three times, letting it sink in, and then sent out a couple of messages of my own. It was immediately clear what we needed to do. Thanks to the bank's online portal, we extracted all our deposits in a matter of hours. As it turns out, I was not alone. I was part of a digital herd that received the data with unprecedented velocity and translated it into immediate real-world action at an extraordinary rate. Hundreds of executives learned the news about SVB’s precarious situation and collectively withdrew a staggering $42 billion in a single day . Compare that with the last major American bank run, when customers withdrew $16.7 billion over nine days. The difference lies in … [Read more...] about SVB Is A Story Of Digital Herds In Need Of A Shepherd
