May 20, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Co-founder and CEO of Adverity . Companies have stared bleakly into the digital skills void for some time, with data chasms looking especially vast. In 2015, it was estimated there would only be enough data scientists to meet half of the global demand within a few years. By 2019, 90% of executives in all sectors were facing gaps, and 43% cited data analytics as their biggest skills problem. According to the latest studies, almost 7 in 10 firms worldwide are struggling to fill vacancies—the highest rate in 15 years. While ongoing challenges run across industries and departments, issues are most concerning in teams where shrewd data use is essential to drive important, far-reaching decisions. Of course, we’re talking about marketing; however, the choices marketers make have an enormous influence on the ultimate success of any company. Britain launches free trade deal talks with Mexico

May 20, 2022 by www.theedgemarkets.com

British Secretary of State for International Trade Anne-Marie Trevelyan walks outside Downing Street in London, Britain on Feb 8, 2022. (Reuters filepix by Tom Nicholson) - A + A LONDON (May 20): Britain on Friday said it was launching talks over a free trade deal with Mexico, looking to add services to its current agreement, as well as aiming to increase trade in the financial and digital sectors. Britain and Mexico agreed a continuation trade deal before Britain left the sphere of the European Union, but that arrangement is based on an EU-Mexico trade agreement negotiated over 20 years ago. A free-trade agreement with Mexico would also boost Britain's foreign policy tilt towards the Indo-Pacific. Mexico is a member of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), which Britain wants to join. The free trade area, established in 2018, is now made of Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, … [Read more...] about Britain launches free trade deal talks with Mexico

10-year-old girl died doing a TikTok choking ‘challenge’. Her mother is suing the video platform

May 20, 2022 by www.thestar.com.my

Nylah Anderson liked to dance along to TikTok and share the platform's short videos. Then, in early December, TikTok's "Blackout Challenge," which dared people to choke themselves until they almost passed out, allegedly caught 10-year-old Nylah's attention in her personalised TikTok feed. Nylah hung her mother's purse by strapping it to a hanger in the closet of her Chester home. She placed her head between the bag and the shoulder strap, putting pressure on her neck, according to court documents. The girl passed out before she could free herself and by the time her mother found her, Nylah was unconscious. The girl died five days later in a children's hospital. Nylah's mother, Tawainna Anderson, sued TikTok and its parent company, ByteDance Inc, in federal court in Philadelphia late last week, accusing the social media platform of being a "dangerously defective" product whose algorithm fed the viral challenge to her daughter's "For You Page," leading to Nylah's death. TikTok's … [Read more...] about 10-year-old girl died doing a TikTok choking ‘challenge’. Her mother is suing the video platform

May 20, 2022 by www.moneycontrol.com

Indian Overseas Bank MD and CEO Partha Pratim Sengupta Indian Overseas Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Partha Pratim Sengupta says the government has not approached the lender with a privatisation proposal although occasional media reports speculate about its sale. It has only been from such reports that Sengupta has got to know about the proposal, he said. In fact, the government has not even hinted that the bank will be privatized, Sengupta told Moneycontrol in an interview on May 20. Sengupta said the bank is aiming to grow its advances by 12% in the current financial year with secular growth across retail, micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME), corporate and agricultural loans. Edited excerpts: What is your growth outlook for FY23? The focus is that we should grow advances 12% year-on-year, that is our aim.
