Apple ( NASDAQ:AAPL ) has historically not been one to make splashy acquisitions. The California tech giant made its largest purchase in 2014 by buying Beats Electronics for $3 billion. For a business valued today at close to $3 trillion, this was a tiny amount spent to propel Apple into the audio device business. A new potential target, Peloton Interactive ( NASDAQ:PTON ) , might make sense for Apple to look at right now. The at-home fitness company was approaching a $50 billion market cap 12 months ago, but it has since fallen out of favor with Wall Street as the pandemic surge has faded. At the same time, Apple is in the midst of making a big push in the health and wellness space. Could it be a good idea for Apple to buy Peloton? Let's take a look. Image source: Getty Images. Apple can easily afford this acquisition As of Sept. 25, Apple had $172.6 billion in liquidity on its balance sheet, which includes cash, cash equivalents, … [Read more...] about Should Apple Buy Peloton?

Apple ( NASDAQ:AAPL ) stepped on the gas in India in 2021 as growing demand for 5G smartphones there helped the tech giant attract more users into its fold. According to CEO Tim Cook, Apple's business doubled in India in fiscal 2021 (ended Sept. 25, 2021) which was well ahead of what analysts were expecting . While Cook didn't spell out Apple's exact revenue from India, calculations indicate that the company generated close to $4 billion in revenue there. But it also unlocks creators who have long needed intermediaries or aggregators to reach customers. It's hard to argue that the current internet (web 2.0) isn't currently dominated by Alphabet ( NASDAQ:GOOG ) ( NASDAQ:GOOGL ) which owns Google and YouTube, Meta ( NASDAQ:FB ) with its ownership of Facebook and Instagram, and retail and cloud giant Amazon ( NASDAQ:AMZN ) . If they want to reach friends or customers on the internet or monetize your products, businesses and individual creators will probably interact with one of these companies. web 3.0's stated intention (whether you believe it or not) is to put power back into the power of creators and connect … [Read more...] about My Top Web 3.0 Stocks to Buy and Hold in 2022
Shares of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing ( NYSE:TSM ) , the contract chipmaking juggernaut better known as TSMC, recently hit a new record high after the company posted its fourth-quarter earnings report on Jan. 13. TSMC's revenue rose 24% year over year to $15.74 billion, which beat estimates by $70 million, as its earnings grew 19% to $1.15 per ADR and topped expectations by four cents. If you've been watching the stock market lately, you know that the technology sector is in the midst of a persistent sell-off that began in November 2021. Many individual high-growth stocks have plunged by 50% or more, which by definition places them in bear market territory. History suggests market declines like these often present buying opportunities, mostly for select quality stocks with sound underlying businesses and expanding addressable markets. Perhaps more crucial, though, is to purchase with a focus on the long term so as to ensure the best results. That being said, demand for these companies is heavily … [Read more...] about Will Lower Multiple Tech Stocks Do Better In 2022?
