COPENHAGEN, Denmark — The United States government has opened a criminal investigation into the flow of dirty money through the Estonian branch of Denmark's biggest bank, the lender said Thursday.Danske Bank says it is "in dialogue" with the U.S. Department of Justice, which had asked for information after an internal report at the bank detailed a massive amount of money laundering through its subsidiary, with some reportedly even linked to family members of Russian President Vladimir Putin.Danske's interim chief executive, Jesper Nielsen, said "it is too early to speculate on any outcome of the investigations."The results of Danske Bank's internal investigation were published last month and found that some 200 billion euros ($235 billion) flowing through the bank's accounts from 2007 to 2015 was suspicious. Police isolate Copenhagen during manhunt in Denmark

Olsen Associated Press Published 10:55 AM EDT Sep 28, 2018 Copenhagen, Denmark – A police manhunt on Friday prompted Danish authorities to briefly cut off the eastern island of Zealand, where the capital of Copenhagen sits, from the rest of the country as well as from Germany and Sweden. A black Swedish-registered car with “possibly three people onboard” was being sought in connection with “serious criminality,” the Copenhagen police said. Sweden’s Aftonbladet paper, citing an unnamed police source, said the case was likely connected to a kidnapping. Bridges from Zealand to the central island of Funen and to neighboring Sweden were closed down for about two hours, and ferry crossings to Germany and to Sweden were also halted. COPENHAGEN, Denmark - Four Filipino expat engineers are involved in the largest metro construction project in Denmark over the last 400 years. The Metro Cityringen (The City Circle Line) has 23 construction sites with 17 underground stations and 5 shafts with an average depth of 22-35 meters below surface level and 15.5 kilometers of tunnel in 2 lines. Engineer Deovanni Miranda, 38, is the first Filipino expat who became part of the "Cityringen Project". He was headhunted by Salini Impregilo S.p.A, the largest Italian international construction company specializing in major complex infrastructure projects. He was offered the position of area supervisor and his main task was to lead the supervision of mechanical and electrical construction work in 17 underground stations. In Denmark, Airbnb to report hosts’ rent to tax authorities
COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — Denmark says online room-rental platform Airbnb will start to automatically report its users' deals to taxation authorities, the first country to do so.Taxation minister Carsten Lauritzen says Airbnb "has committed to report data so their hosts pay taxes."
