These frozen coffee pods are the future of barista-quality coffee at home

April 11, 2022 by www.fastcompany.com

Each morning for the past two weeks, I’ve taken out a tiny aluminum capsule from my freezer. Inside is a small, frozen puck of coffee, which I pop in a glass and pour a few tablespoons of boiling water over from my kettle. As a Bostonian, I’ll drink iced coffee in a tundra, so I add ice cubes, top off the glass with almond milk and water, and toss the capsule into the recycling bin. And that’s the beauty of Cometeer . advertisement advertisement The new-ish company sells K-cup size capsules of flash-frozen brewed coffee, that are stashed in your freezer and reconstituted with hot water. They can also chill in your fridge or counter (or carry-on, as the company emphasizes, the capsules are TSA-compliant) for up to 24-hours and be added to cold water (or ice cream for affogato) once it melts. The capsules don’t explode or go bad if left defrosted, but the brand says the 24-hour window is when the “full complexity” is at its peak freshness. Cometeer … [Read more...] about These frozen coffee pods are the future of barista-quality coffee at home

5 Great Coffee Shops In Salt Lake City For Remote Workers

August 11, 2022 by www.forbes.com

Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin It’s no secret that the urge to live in Utah is growing – and fast. Last year alone, almost 35,000 Americans migrated to Utah – 10,000 more than in 2020 and the most since 2005. The real secret is why. Even before COVID-19 hit, millennials and young Gen Xers had begun swapping their busy city lives for affordable suburban adventures with the opportunity to buy a house. The pandemic’s spike in remote work only catalyzed this movement. From July 2020 to July 2021, housing units grew faster in Utah than in any other state. Aside from its real estate value, a solid job market also drew people to Utah, which, with a current unemployment rate 1.5% below the national average, continues to do well. Then, statistics aside, there’s the fact that the state is just downright gorgeous. Of all the counties in Utah, it’s not difficult to understand why Tooele and Utah counties — roughly 30 minutes from Salt Lake City — are … [Read more...] about 5 Great Coffee Shops In Salt Lake City For Remote Workers

This fall, I’ve been busy trying the seven new restaurants everyone’s talking about in Paris right now to bring you the lowdown. 1. Le Camondo, a historic gem with a country club atmosphere close to Monceau Park Le Camondo restaurant, Paris Le Camondo (c) Florian Corcos Dining options in the Monceau Park neighbourhood, an area composed primarily of offices, Haussmannian townhouses and embassies, are quite limited, so when Le Camondo opened with its pretty outdoor stone terrace, it was a blessing for locals. An upscale restaurant with a décor of cool and formality in equal measures, it's designed to please a mixed crowd ranging from business types to aristocrats. The restaurant adjoins the offbeat villa museum of … [Read more...] about Where To Eat In Paris: The 7 New Restaurants Everyone’s Talking About This Fall
